please dont begin to blame the man, there is clearly deeper problems in the squad and alex seems sick of it IMO.

we conceded 3 goals thats the problem not alex.
The man is clearly off form... Tonight's defeat isn't his fault... That doesn't change the fact that he needs to be benched... And it'll be for his own good... He'll come back extra motivated... he always has...

lol

please ban this guy...
Apart from his set pieces at the start of the season he has, you cant even argue with that. His Champions league form in the group stages was good, but his serie a form has been horrendous.

How would he find form if he doesn't set foot on the field?
The training ground, where Iaquinta and giovinco found it

It is... But I wouldn't have benched Alex for this match... The reason being an in form Alex would be of great help vs Inter... for him to find his touch he needed to play today... Because that clearly didn't work, I think he should be benched vs Inter... and I think he will be...

which is not his fault but ranieri's
It's 70% Ranieri's fault, and 30% Del Piero's. Why these figures? Because firstly and foremost it's Ranieri's responsibility to consider his team's form and put a player in his place when he is out of line. However, Del Piero is a leader and, as captain, should be thinking, "Hey, I have 21 teammates who look up to me and we're all in this together. I should set an example and do what's best for the team. If that means sitting on the bench for half a game, than so be it."

Those thoughts would be in Italian, of course. :D

I think Alex has lost hope in his team mates and thats why he is trying to do everything by himself. We seriously lack any creativity in the team and he like the other strikers are being forced to create most chances by themselves. The effort he is putting in is admirable but he just aint got the legs to do it all anymore.

With someone like diego playing behind him next season im sure he will score plenty more.

to who? Molinaro? Zebina? Marchionni? Poulsen? a 36 year old Nedved? This team is a fucking joke.

To whom exactly? Molinaro, Marchionni?
Have you seen the last few games, having free players in the box which were in better goal scoring potions he either deiced to dribble some more or have a shot which nothing evolved from, in the past few weeks he has become more selfish like he's trying to prove a point to someone

No way. He'll be one of the few that'll be motivated for that match
Being motivated means nothing if he isn't on form. Of course I would love him to start and score, but I think the best thing to do is keep him for the second half.

To be fair, he wasn't really doing much on his own.

You said it, sista - I totally agree.

Of course, we all know that ADP is starting the Inter match. The real question is 'will Seba feature'? He damn well better... we sure as hell missed his spark today.

Alex hasn't received one single good pass tonight in order to do his job. Everything he did today was made by him and only him. The penalty [whether it was a spot on call or not] was thanks to putting pressure on his opponents. Another two or three chances he made when he tried to dribble and he succeeded but wasn't lucky at the end.

Our forwards and specially Del Piero get 0 help. Even less than 0. Ale was even defending tonight, I saw him couple of times next to Chiellini. What do you want more? Play in all positions? Be real people.

He tried everything today and I think he was our best player though I wouldn't really pick an MVP after this humiilation.

God, you people are really amusing. Ale has never been a slefish type player but when he refuses to pass the ball to some Daud kid, when we're 4-1 ahead against Bologna in the 90th minute people are critizing him. Hats off to Del Piero for last night match. He's 34 ffs but he was all over the pitch trying to make up for our non-existent midfield. Genoa won fully deservedly so don't act as if we would have won if Ale had passed that ball to Iaquinta.

Oh, cut the crap already. He tops the 'Juve players rating' list.

Chiellini 6,38
Amauri 6,35

I understand where you're coming from; it's incredibly frustrating to watch Alex try to do it all himself; he certainly isn't getting the required support from those around him. This has become a trend, and the result is that Alex is definitely pressing a little bit up front, trying to do too much himself; you can see the frustration in his body language.

I don't agree with a huge amount of the Alex bashing that is going on (there have been some flat out disgraceful comments made about both Alex and Gigi the past 2 weeks), but I think it's fair to say that for whatever reasons, he hasn't been in particularly great form for chunks of the second half of this season (It's all somewhat relative, considering how high he has set the bar, as recently as last season).

We all expect a lot - definitely too much - from Alex; it's not fair to slander him for not being able to put the team on his back every single week; he can't always be counted on to work miracles.

Unfortunately, come next season I think it's time we get used to ADP not being an automatic 1st team selection; more importantly, Alex is going to have to get used to it. We desperately need to increase the competition in our lineup - I really don't want to see our captain run into the ground (out of perceived necessity), like Nedved was this year. We need him fresh, and full of inspiration.

Our defense has got to be a priority this offseason - quality defenders will help ease the defensive responsibilities of some players who should be focused on attacking, while offering them support - but it's also crucial to remember that the man who scored the first goal tonight will be 35 next season, and the man who beautifully set up the second goal is retiring.

It's time to shift into a more attacking formation, get Giovinco into these games, and make a concerted effort to sign Diego. Let's get some other technically gifted players into this lineup, players who can combine, play ball to foot, and open up some space for Alex to work his magic.

The simple fact is that for an extended period of time, our offense has been largely Alex dependent. That's not a very intelligent strategy, especially considering his age. We need to be proactive about this issue, and that's why I think a top class creative mid is so crucial to our summer Mercato - let's give our fantastic strikers the support they deserve.

He deserves the bench for the start of the next game!
Jesus, the last two games he reminded me of the old Zlatan times, when I was yelling "pass the ball" in front of the TV, but he simply wouldn't do it....

he's got no one to help him...and people here just complaining about not passing the ball, when actually there's no one there to receive the pass...not to mention that ale shouldn't pass, he should be the one to get the ball in the opponent area...when iaquinta has a bad day but he's working hard, everybody protect him and say:"he ran a lot, fought hard"...when ale does all by himself, and run more than anyone else, some people here just ignore that...

there's no forward in the whole world that could've done better than alex yesterday, considering the way our midfielders played
