Alex's recipe for success

Monday 9 March, 2009

Alessandro Del Piero claims “team spirit” can prove the decisive factor for Juventus when they take on Chelsea.

The Bianconeri are looking to cancel out their 1-0 reverse at Stamford Bridge to book a place in the Champions League quarter-finals.

“The unity of the group will be fundamental and could make the difference between us and them tomorrow night,” Del Piero stated.

“I have been really excited by the build-up to this game, even if I have had the derby on my mind.

“We have to play a perfect game and give 100 per cent from the first minute.

“We will need the support of our fans to help us turn around the 1-0 from the away game.”

Chelsea will be led by Guus Hiddink, who led South Korea to victory over Italy at the 2002 World Cup.

“I don't have nice memories of Guus as Korea boss,” Alex admitted,

“He has always been very well prepared in every way and now he has great players at his disposal.

“It won't be an easy game for us and we need to keep possession as much as possible if we are to win.

“Technical and tactical ability won't be enough, we need to show heart and will to win.”
