I just had a look at the start of this thread. Some people were writing Del Piero off 4 years ago saying it was the beginning of the end for him or even the end of the end in one case!! How wrong they were!

Our Captain is still going strong and still proving his doubters wrong 4 years later. Forza Ale!

Usual shit he gets all the time, I think finally most of his critics have realised that they should just shut up now as everytime they doubt him he proves them wrong!!

I hope 2009 is even better than 2008 (which will be difficult to top) for Ale! :delpiero:

They didn't only realize that they should shut up but they turned themselves into clowns. I remember everyone insulting/arguing for the sake of it with me, Rehan, Hoori and others for defending Ale and laughing at us.

Anyway back to action, here's what Scolari said

Scolari: "Del Piero should be double marked when we play them in February, he's a player that can make a difference and there-for we shouldn't give him any space"

Rab, was 2008 Del Piero's most efficient year?
If i counted correctly he scored 5 in CL, 3 in coppa and 20 (14+6) in serie A, which gives a total of 28 goals during the calendar 2008.

i remember watching all those critics say that the great alex is finished and he should retire, i hated it. i even remember yelling at the tv on numerous occasions lol, but in a way i new that all this criticism was fueling ale, and that once he had shown all those journalists the champion he really is it mad it all the more sweeter.

The people that don't follow Italian football closely always say that Del Piero is finished, they only see him once every 2 years in international tournaments with Italy, and most of the time these people love the premier league and blow their load over sexy football :melayyanandmessi:

Top 10 goals from 2008 Ale and number 2

beleive its not only them, i remember after the game against roma last season. where he missed the penalty. on rai they we all saying ale was finished. i was so angry at what they were saying. i remember that game it was horrible for me to watch to see ale like that, with no confidence when he missed that penalty i almost cried thats how sorry i felt for him.

but luckily now he is playing like the real ale!

Considering that we also didn't play CL last year, then I think it is his most efficient year indeed.
