Liverpool's Torres takes on world in Free Kick Masters comp
tribalfooball.com - May 20, 2008

Liverpool ace Fernando Torres, Barcelona stars Ronaldinho and Lionel Messi, plus Juventus captain Alessandro del Piero have all signed on for this year's Free Kick Masters event in Texas.

Free Kick Masters is an all-star competition unique to the world of soccer as the only event that features elite international players in a direct shots-on-goal competition. It also features the largest single player event purse - the player crowned "Free Kick Master" will receive $1 million in cash and prizes and the "Golden Goalkeeper" title winner will receive $500,000 in cash and prizes.

In addition to Ronaldinho, Deco, and Del Piero, other free kickers expected to appear are, Fernando Torres, Rafael Marquez, Jared Borgetti, Juninho, Eddie Lewis, Jozy Altidore, Sun Ji, and Sun Xiang. The stellar list of goalkeepers includes Oliver Kahn, Francesco Toldo, and Kasey Keller.

With a format similar to the NBA's Three-Point Shootout, and MLB's Home Run Derby, Free Kick Masters is a skills-based international soccer competition featuring some of the world's top-rated free kickers competing against some of the world's premier goalkeepers. This free kick shootout is designed to determine the world's "Free Kick Master" and "Golden Goalkeeper". The last Free Kick Masters was a sold out event held in Marbella, Spain broadcast to over 30 countries with an estimated 110 million viewers.

Camelot Island Entertainment (CIE), who presents the event, has signed an agreement with Fox Sports International Distribution Ltd. to distribute the 2008 Free Kick Masters event to a worldwide audience.

"This is one of the most significant developments in the history of international soccer," observed a CIE representative. "Other than the World Cup, there is no greater collection of superstar talent at any one place, at any one time, than the Free Kick Masters. The fact that this international soccer event is taking place in the U.S. speaks to the growing popularity of the sport and its ability to break down borders and unite cultures."

As much as I love Del Piero, I don't think he will win. My bet is on Juninho.

Juninho is the only name that can over-take Ale in taking freekicks. Other than Juninho I don't see anyone better than him.

what are they talking about?
I don't understand much, but Seven has explained, he goes on Donadoni hoping that he watched Alex and what a player Alex is, then with the "ahhhhh comme gioca Del Pierooo" I love this part.

That's not as flattering as you think. The fact that he has doubters proves that he inspires doubt in people. If he didn't noone would doubt him and he wouldn't have to prove them wrong.
Dude, you actually think there is or there ever was a player who wasn't doubted?
Cmon, people had doubts in Maradona's and Zidane's... everybody is doubted, now there are those who prove them wrong and become legends and respected by all, and there are those who choke, fail...

I'll make the transfer this weekend. You know Bank Interest is a good thing. Friday you'll receive 1.8 and not 2m you little bitch.
Allrighty then :D
