They're good friends and Noel was named mascotte of the Azzurri during the WC 2006 because, after Del Piero en Noel met after a concert, Del Piero gave him tickets to join the game against Germany. Because Del Piero scored and Italy went to Berlin, Noel was named mascotte of the Azzurri and got tickets for the final. Making horrible music has his advantages though.
