Del piero has given so much for juve and will be an unforgotten legend , possibly the greatest ever . But why retire the number 10 jersey ? Maybe , just maybe , another player comes along and becomes just as great as del piero or even greater ..

Juventus must go on . The number 10 legacy at juve also must go on .

true, somebody else will come along and win over our hearts, but Del Piero is an idol of this club. If somebody else comes along, it doesnt matter what number he is, he can still be great. Its out of respect to the great man, he has stuck by this club through thick and thin, the least we could do is retire his number for him, and give him the send off he deserves.

Yes , but surely there are better ways to honoring del piero than retiring the number 10 jersey . I know great players can be great players without the n.10 jersey but it would make a young player so much more motivated to wear the legendary jersey of platini , baggio , del piero , and so on . I just can't imagine juventus without a number 10 , to me it's a very important number and it should never be retired .

Del piero will soon be a legend that has retired but juventus will continue and will produce another number 10 legend and that's the way it goes .

i think they should name the stadium after him , like inter have named theirs " Guiseppe meaza "

Stadium " Alessandro Del piero " , that's a great gesture .
That would propably be the biggest gesture in football. I can't think of anything greater. That would be fantastic. Or at the very least one of the stands. But I think the entire stadium would be better. And if not that they could also name the field after him. Although it's not as good, it's still something.

Then we would truly have la zona Del Piero.

That is very true. We should honour DP some other way by naming some past of our stadium after him.

Curvas or stadiums shouldn't be named after living players. If Del Piero tragically died tomorrow I could agree with the idea though.

The idea of retiring a number is utter stupidity, not to say crass.

I know lets play with just ten players after DP retires to show how much we miss him.

Anyone who saw Platini play, knows who was the better player.
