I taped Ale's interview of today. These are some pieces of it. Let's start with the most important and interesting one:
Federico Ferri (the Sky journalist following Juve): Un'ultima curiosità da parte mia: Massimo Mauro, domenica scorsa durante Sky Calcio Show, ha detto "Attenzione che Alessandro Del Piero non è rimasto alla Juve perchè doveva rimanere e basta, ma ha dovuto fare una scelta: a inizio stagione aveva un'importante offerta da una squadra all'estero e ha scelto di non andarci e di rimanere alla Juventus". Volevo chiedere se ci confermavi questo e se potevi dirci anche qual era questa squadra.
One last curiosity from me: Massimo Mauro, last sunday at 'Sky Calcio Show', said:"It's not like Alessandro Del Piero remained at Juve because he had to and that's it, he had to make a choice: before the beginning of the season he had an important offer from a club abroad and he chose not to go and to remain at Juve". Ale: Beh, ce n'era più di una, ma per rispetto non mi sembra il caso di fare nomi. Però la scelta che ho fatto è stata presa da me in tutta serenità, sapendo quello che potevo fare in una squadra che giocava ad alti livelli e quello che mi aspettava qui. Quindi l'ho fatta in maniera molto serena, ripeto, e sono tutt'oggi molto contento di questo.
Well, there was more than one, but making names would not be respectful. But I made my choice in absolute serenity, knowing what I could have achieved in club playing at 'high standards' and what was waiting for me here. At this point Sconcerti (ex fiorentina manager, now -irritating- journalist) said: Alex, per rispetto a te, non solo alla squadra, la posso dire io la squadra che ti voleva?

It's not this big deal: it was Manchester United. Del Piero chose not to go deeper into the matter. When he realized the offer was real and serious, he chose not to go (to negotiate with the club), 'cause he wanted to remain at Juve. We didn't lack of respect to anyone, did we?
During Sconcerti's words Ale maintains a poker like face, then answers: No, nel senso che ci sono delle trattattive che non vanno neanche avanti, come hai detto tu, proprio perchè è successo veramente di tutto quest'estate, compreso anche il mondiale dove era bene avere la testa al mmonento e non al periodo successivo. Quindi ringrazio chi si è fatto sentire e chi era disposto a fare grandi cose con me e .. e basta.
There are negotiations that don't go very far, like you said, exactly because this summer happend lots of things and the WC is one of them. It was better having my mind focused on the present and not on what was going to happen later.
