Up till a few days ago he was considered as the symbol of this Juventus side, the captain who will never leave his maiden in distress. However, follow the match against Milan in the Berlusconi Cup, Alessandro Del Piero has made it clear that he wants a competitive team next season or else he will leave.

"Who said that I will remain here," asked Del Piero, "They must convince me by building a competitive squad."

'Pinturicchio' might have been influenced by the spectacular match at San Siro, which obviously stimulated his desire to return to the big stage as soon as possible.

"San Siro is always a fantastic stadium, the encounter between these two teams is always a big match. It was a nice evening, I had fun, and we'll go back home satisfied with our performance, which was an important test at this point of the season."

The board better get their act together. At this rate juve will be left only with boumsong playing as an attacking goalkeeper.

So...where is it that our Alex wants to go? This is just another hint to the board that they'd better do something for the sake of the club and to keep Gigi and the rest around. He's not going anywhere.

Ofcourse he would say that... Have you seen the deffense in that game? I bet if we change our deffenders we would be pretty good.

this must be a tactic of the older juve players to force the managment to buy good players
u r right, i think they know how slow our new board is and thats the only to get them to do the right thing at all costs. with a defense like last nights there is a lot of things to work on to get juventus back to its real image.

I'd even understand if he and the others would leave, if we don't get a competitive team together. I mean what more can you ask from the players. They sacrifice a year of their career helping the club back to serie A and then they are expected to compete with the likes of Torino or Atalanta. Thats insane. If the players make sacrifices so should the the team. It has to work both ways.

Del Piero hunger is just unbelievable, he truly plays with heart and passion for the game.
You're spot on. Thats what makes Del Piero special, apart from being loyal and class off and on the pitch. He's a player that gives 100% for Juve's shirt, whenever you read his statements, It's like he can never give up.

Thats what makes him special to Juve and non Juve fans.

, seriously Del Piero is the man

Sorry me, DP fans, but that was just because he's jealous of the media recurring speculating about Trezeguet & Buffon...
I doubt that, infact I don't think he even stated that when he extended his deal and decided to play with the club I think he really meant that. We all know how class he is and doesn't really need to prove media anything, nor challenge David or Gigi for this.
