The captain calls for calm

In a television interview, Alessandro Del Piero reflected on Saturday’s draw away at Rimini and called for cool heads, “Let’s be calm. It was the first day and it gave us our first taste of an unknown quantity, the adventure which must take us back to Serie A. Saturday was an anomaly, the opposition made life very difficult for us and they had an enthusiastic crowd behind them. We can’t be in too much of a rush. I can understand that people want to get out of this situation as soon as possible but calm is required”.
The captain has a positive outlook on the future, “I’m optimistic. Amid a thousand difficulties we played a great match against a side in better condition than ourselves. It’s a good omen and we can only get better. Things will take shape step by step, as everyone gets to know each other better and a number of players return to fitness. We are capable of taking giant steps forward in a short space of time but of course, the sooner that happens the better”. And a final call to arms, “If we can get the same attendances as last year we can fill the Olimpico with passion and love”.

We'll stand united, captain ;)
