I definatly think Del Piero has been better coming off of the bench so far but i also strongly feel that totti has been rubbish and Im really suprised he's been used as much as he has. All of the British commentators feel the same. Italy have carried him the whole tournament. Just watch the Italy Germany match again and you will see how many times he gave the ball away. if not Del Piero then someone else should take his place but Lippi will never drop him. not now. but Italy could of got this far a lot easier if Totti had not played at all. I am a big fan of Totti but he has not been fit and this just isnt his tournament.

Just want to add something:

We scored 11 goals and Totti made 4 assists.Lippi knows why is he using him.

If you don't count the corner kick against Ghana which provided a first goal for us,giving the ball to Pirlo, and Totti was the man who served the ball to Zambro for the goal against Ukraine....Ok,if you don't count these as the assists,Totti was definitely the last man who touched the ball before the other player scored.

no, a corner kick is not counted as assists. and the pass to zambrotta wasn't an assist either, it was solo zambrotta. also the pass to pirlo wasn't. this is the official stat. I don't remember the 2 assits though - one to toni and the other ?

The other one is from a corner kick to Matrix, against the Czech Rep.

That thing looks nothing like my beautiful Del!

And I agree with those who said that Del is better coming of the bench.

I miss Vieri though. Totti is okay but Vieri was better at scoring goals.

thanks.

I guess the 2 assists are then :

1) his pass to zambrotta (don't understand why zambrotta even passed him)
2) his freekick to toni

the corner kicks never count as official assists.

It wasn't a freekick, it was a corner but he passed it to Pirlo (I think) who gave it back to him and he crossed it in and Toni scored. It was against Ukraine.
