Yeah I agree in part. Though personally if I wanted a goal there's only one option and thats superpippo. You'd def bring dp on for penalties though, because dear god you'd need him against the germans in a shootout

me personally i would bring in del, pippo has scored some clutch goals for juve, and milan, etc. but for the national team i'd perfer del.

I think probably Lippi does as well, but dp ain't got the best record in big games (talking recent years) and with his lack of pace maybe a late substitution would not be all that effective, but we'll have to wait and see.

I hope Lippi realises, and he's a fan of Del Piero as well of course, how to use Del Piero right in his natural position and not to field him somwhere where he would get lost in pointless wing play that ends up conceding the ball. That's not Del Piero's fault but his stupid unnatural position. He's the only player who nt coaches demand he'll play in different roles than what he plays (very successfully) for club.... Lippi, just play Italy like Juve.
