No, it's the only ever backheel in the air. It's one of a kind. Solo goals you mention are ones that happen a lot. We're not talking about the importance of the goal, but of the skill of the goal. That's why this is the best goal ever. Of course solo efforts or long range shots or whatever don't come close. This one is unique.

Tom, really, that is one of the classiest goals out there. Have you got any idea how fucking hard it is to pull something like that off? A freekick against that speed at that height.. It's simply amazing. Not to mention how well he took it. Something completely different than long range shots, who in the end are not so much an example of skill.
Indeed. Very well put. :agree:

I wouldn't say it was the best goal ever, but my word it was special, i have never seen a goal like that, sure henry did one recently when he stood there and the defender did nothing and he had so much time to backheel it, and carew in the champions league did a similar backheel, but this goal, i've never seen one like it, it came so fast, so little time to adjust, and ale someow heeled it in, that was special, and the one in the 1997 final was pretty amazing too, the difference between the one's ale does and other people, is ale does it first time, which is much harder

Jesus, what has crouch got to do with this. I was simply showing how laughable it is that that goal is the best ever in the history of the game. Obviously you lot al agreed with that rash statement though, maybe cos you're all fucking morons.. yeah thats it.
You must to admit that those Del Piero backheel goals are master peace.
Really these goals are pure rarity, and ask for some skill.

there is alot of players who score from long range but its more power than skills for example batistuta he score goals with his power more than his skills and when got older he lost his speed and his body power and he couldnt stand it so he realized that he cant keep on playing at the highest level but when you talk about del piero he dont have speed or power and hes dont have big body and hes very short compairing with the other strickers but he have alot of very important things that they dont have and he dont sweat too much to score a goal because hes very skillful and very smart and his goals always spacial and differant than the others and proved that he can repeat the beautiful goals for example the backheels and the side area near the box goal to the top corner of the goal like the one against dortmund

I'm sure Zola has done it as well IIRC. Probably others have too, its a very bold thing to say that its the only one unless you really have looked into it!

If Zola or others have done it please tell me when (video clips or references). I'll be very interested to see it. I've never seen a goal like it , that is rising to a ball from a freekick and sliding it in with your backheel. I'll be very interested to see more of these.

i do remember zola scoring a great backheel (just like del piero v dortmund 97) from a corner kick, first time, he jumped in the air and heeled it into the net, great goal, pure class, hard to say which one was better, del piero's or zola's, but i'll give it to ale because his was in a champions league final rather than a normal premiership game

Good, so I'm not totally mad then. I don't have a clip or anything though, its purely from memory i'm afraid

Il Re is talking about a backheel like the CL final 97. These backheels aren't that rare, also regular players have scored backheels of course. But a backheel from mid-air (high) from a freekick is yet to be reenacted.

Shouldn't you be receiving the same treatment than anybody else here no matter how cute is your dog's pic in the "show your dog OMG" thread or how funny are your one-liners in the "best online jokes evah" thread or whatever you are doing in a Juventus forum. :disagree:
