Because he needed fresh blood in the middle. Had he not made the Nesta sub so early, you would have seen DP today.
Then he should have subbed Totti for Del Piero and let Camoranesi stay. Camoranesi had a good performance IMO and was far more valuable than Totti. Had Del Piero come on it would have been 2-0 within the space of minutes anyway. Totti completely forgot to make use of the space given away by the Czechs.

Camo got tired and he wanted to save him. I was waiting for a Totti-DP sub also and was somehow surprised at Lippi's decision. One day giovanotti said that Lippi does not make mistakes, but he explained that he trusts his decisions. Accept what he did and wait for what he will do. I know Lippi and I know that each of his team members has a role. Lippi uses the players according to what thay can do, unlike Capello using players to what HE wants them to do.

I still not understand why not using both Totti and Del Piero. :disagree:

Because the Italian side can only afford to carry one player at a time.

Just kidding: On that performance Tootti should be out and DP in: but thats not so great is it, in truth, is it?

How foolish not to have taken Cassano, italy's best play in the European championship.

Cassano is a troublemaker and definately not in a good enough form to be taken into the team. I'm so glad he's not in Juventus and not in Azzurri this year.

Totti is really awful. Those pathetic shots at goal (attempted "lobs" lol) were a disgrace. He's just a really bad player right now. I don't know what the future holds for Del Piero in this WC but I'm hoping for good performances. This was only the group stage. Del Piero forever is the best :)

I have a feeling Alex will NOT play a significant role in this world cup. I hoped he could at least score 1 goal but it doesn't look likely.

And Camo was in the risk of getting another yellow card,so in that case he would miss a match against Australia.
I expected a Totti-Del Piero sub,as well,because Totti played below expected.

Anyhow ,great win for Azzurri, and I'm waiting for Del Piero against Australia.

Hey!!:eyebrows: This Alessandro Del Piero you are talking about!! Of course he can score!
I hope he scores the goal of the WC:) That would be great! One that everyone will be talking about:D A volley in the top corner of the goal or one like he did with his heel many years ago. (don't remember who it was against...do you??)
