Del Piero's famous goals with heels :

Backheel in the air vs Torino, best goal in the history of the game :agree:
Dortmund CL final 1997
Siena 2004/2005
Djugraden CL qualifying 2004/2005
what about the one in 2003 season, when nedved took a freekick and ale back heeled it in? or was that not his goal?

Yup, weighs like a cracker :D

What a player.

The advantages of Crouch:

1-When he is in the game you are always smiling while watching his movements

2-He dribbles very well, and has great tachinque

3-Ha has very mental look

4-Ha can score an "important" double against the team such is Hungary or Jamaica

that's the one against Torino. It's just amazing. When I show it to people, the first instant they don't understand what happened. But when one realises Del Piero backheels it in mid-air... it's just uncanny. It's the most astounding goal plausible and can't be reenacted. I put it as Del Piero's best goal in the best ever 10 goals compilation :) though Del Piero maintains his volley vs Fiorentina is the best :D

Del Piero will shine. We we will see the class of Del Piero many times in the future, I'm sure.

Btw, it's not the end of the world if Del Piero is not a protagonist at the WC... in a sense, we all , loyal supporters of Alex, recognise his true greatness, one that is constant and is permanent, one that transcends the normal look at football players. If Del Piero scored a bunch of goals all the gloryhunters will pop and say they admire him... but they don't really admire him, they don't stick by this unique person and sports man, they don't realise what a veritable genius is here and what he represents. For us, he will always represent that magic. We'll be waiting for those moments of brilliance which are further silver linings in the golden clouds that his personaa signifies to mankind. He will have those moments in the WC too I believe.

Jesus, what has crouch got to do with this. I was simply showing how laughable it is that that goal is the best ever in the history of the game. Obviously you lot al agreed with that rash statement though, maybe cos you're all fucking morons.. yeah thats it.

1. Maradona's second goal vs england in '86
2. Nelinho's stunner against Italy in '78

Thats 2 reasons. Otherwise just watch goal of the month on match of the day, there are better goals scored every bloody week than that one!

Tom, really, that is one of the classiest goals out there. Have you got any idea how fucking hard it is to pull something like that off? A freekick against that speed at that height.. It's simply amazing. Not to mention how well he took it. Something completely different than long range shots, who in the end are not so much an example of skill.

No, I don't agree at all. If you're saying long range stunners are a fluke then the same could be applied to any goal couldn't it. Ooh, he just stuck his leg out, caught it right and it went in, you could say. And he isn't the only player to have done it either, so it really isn't that special. A good goal yes, very good in fact but it hardly set the world alight in the way the two I mentioned and countless others have.
