TBH, although I'm a big fan of DP he did not impress me tonight.IMO the best Italian player was Pirlo.I did not like that he backpassed too much and that he went too wide in the pitch.I think that he can perform much better as an attacker than as an attacking midfielder
Yes Tassard, but he didn't lost a ball or make an stupid backpass, I think he really had the control of what he was doing. You have to consider that (as you said) he wasn't in his regular position (attacker), he was an attacking midfielder with iaquinta and gila in the front. Being too wide and making backpasses its part of being a good attacknig midfielder :D

And I wouldn't play Totti!

I would go with 3 strikers,we need a win there!Ghana could be the first in the group if Bruce Arena slack.
I think that's almost a fact Gio. Toti was useless today. He was very nervous and kind of lost in the pitch; he didn't "conect" with his teammates. IMO, Lippi noticed it and (even that this sounds rude) hopefully he won't start against Czech Republic. Totti isn't the Totti we were all expecting.

good performance by Ale.I concur that he should play instead of Gila.although Gila scored against the US,he was invisible most of time especially in the 2nd half.I even think Ale would be more useful than Totti for the Azzurri.I'm just happy that he played as a forward last night.I prefer him not to play rather than playing as the left midfielder.

there is just one thing that makes me worried.though Ale had a good game,he seemd lack of motive.I somehow can understand him.he's had a briliant season but that wasn't enough for Lippi to give him a starting place.last night,he reminded me of the matches that he entered for Juve in the last 10 minutes and he changed to his "I don't care" part.but this is World Cup and apparently the last one for Ale.hope he gets what he deserves and hope he shines in this tournament.

Be happy with your cup from 66, you wont get another one, Your country was built by italians so hush up
Oh we are going off on a tangent now aren't we? Precisely what the roman occupation centuries and centuries ago has to do with current footballing matters is beyond me.

I'm sure we could have survived without them though, I mean it was the French who last successfully invaded Britain not the Italians. You guys got fed up of all the barbarian tribes kicking your ass all the time and fucked back off home!

oh yea, go to london, and see who built it, you had no roads, nothing, you didn't know what having a bath was, and yea its not relavant, but dont try and cuss italian football when we have 3 world cups and a euro and other lost finals, you have one cup from 66 and have never been to any other final, and just for the record, Peter Crouch is an ugly mug :toast:

Ooh, you delpiero fanboys are so funny. Jokingly criticise him with the crouch comparison and your up in arms. Right now, Azzurri 7 is probably recalibrating his GPS system with a lock on my house and sending over the Beirut mafia to kidnap me and my family. I've obviously stirred up some deep anti British feeling as well which is always good.

Calm down people, no need to get irate. If you ask nicely delboy will still dance with you at the prom :howler:

Nah, I wouldn't kidnap you...you need to brush and fix your teeth before I think of doing that.

Till now, Fook Off:cheesy:
