Wow, I just read that extract of his autobiography and that's a very hard attack on Capello. He's not really saying what's so bad about Capello, but the way the argument is built up is quite nice. His ghostwriter really performed well there. It's quite nice to blast Capello by saying what you would all leave behind to get away from him :).

Well is not only alex that has had that kind of talk about capello.
Last week I saw Gigi Buffon in a long interview in Rai and he said mostly the same.

It makes you also once again notice what a "strange" football player Ale really is.

He makes analogies between his situation and the one of Achilles, Agamemnon and the Achaeans. I think only Pessotto could have done better :agree:

99% of the other players, if asked "What about the Iliad?", would have answered "Huh? Se magna*?":D

*Is it something to eat?

Del Piero deserved a golden ball, but pathetic joga bonito clown lovers dont consider this

I wanted at least 1 golden ball in Del Piero's career
its true, the problem for ale was that when he was at his best, so was zidane and ronaldo, had that not been the case he surely would have won it in 98, and had he had a good world cup in 98 im sure he would have, thats what let him down

The Golden Ball award was never a failure, it goes to the most consistant player of the season.

Del Piero deserved it in 1998.

I honestly dont see any consistance in a group of journalists given an award to whoever player they choose. It is totally personal. And the fact neither maradona- the best player ever existed- nor alex has won it show it.

The point is who cares about a magazine award when you have won EVERYTHING.
