Would you rather instead that he celebrate it by playing for 90 minutes and have us lose? If we're winning, or we need him for a tactical reason, then let him come on. Otherwise, Juve winning > Del Piero reaching some landmark. That's how Conte should look at it, and he'd be stupid to look at it in any other way.
True, but we could name one of the stands after him. I think that would be appropriate for his 700th game (just time it so it's played at home). A ceremony where his name is unveiled on one of the big stands would be a nice gesture.
Hm, not much of a tribute. Goalposts aren't things that get a lot of attention. How often would they be mentioned, when Juve hits the Zoff for the 3rd time in a game?

Would it make sense to buy next season's jersey with his name on it, even if he is no longer physically at the club?
Just found this quote:
“For a lot of people, Del Piero is still a Superhero. For me, Del Piero will always be the Superhero of Juventus. His role in this team? Superhero will always be a part of the team.” ~Andrea Agnelli
According to some smart people here, who claim they know more about the club hiding behind their computer screens, Andrea Agnelli and Pavel Nedved both hate Del Piero and want him out of the club forever. And anyone who says Del Piero is past it, or that he cannot be a starter anymore, is a fake fan.
That's not what I was trying to point out. I was referring to the guys who want us to think that Andrea hates Del Piero, so I'm wondering if Pavel also hate Del Piero since he's Andrea's right hand man.
