Giampiero Boniperti has said Alessandro Del Piero would be perfect as a future Juventus president.

Del Piero, who will equal Boniperti's league appearance record of 444 games against Livorno tonight, has been tipped to follow the former president's footsteps.

"Del Piero is a golden boy and he has everything to go forward as a director at the club," Boniperti told Tuttosport.

"I can see him as being the future president of Juventus and I would be happy if he took that role."

It was Boniperti who signed Del Piero as a youth team product from Padova in 1993.

"I remember going to see him play and I saw he was made of champion material. I was lucky in my choice, and I am happy for him today."

I know, go all bananas on me but if there is anything called a generational change then it should happen now and Ale should be a part of it. He now has the record in both games and goals and he's done more than anyone else for this club. Its time to save some of this clubs future.
