According to schedule yet a very important win for us today against the Swiss. It's a shame with our national team when it comes to the World Cup, all the best players from the NHL that are knocked out of Stanley Cup or earlier won't come to the WC and instead make up some silly excuse like "family issue" or "injury" etc. Just look at the Russians for instance, those guys all take pride in representing their country and will do so at every level, not just in the Olympics.

You guys did that? That's great
That's kinda tradition here. We did it in 2002 and 2003 when we beat Russia 3:2 and 2:1, did it when we won against USA some years back and we do it every time when Latvia wins against big country. There has been a lot to celebrate this year, and i hope that it's not over, although in quarters (damn you Swiss) we probably would have to play against Canada.

I don't mind the Latvians doing well. The hockey power needs to be spread. The Belarusians are coming along nicely, as does the Swiss.

That was some dramatic shit, but we are through thanks to USA pulling it till overtime against Switzerland. Finns were fucking close to 1st place in their group, but the cruel reality is that Latvia will play Canada in quarters. Suomi's showed that Canada are not unbeatable, so hope still is here, lets fuck them royally :vinny:

    Yes, we shall...

This reminds me of the showdown at the end of "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly", where we just stare at each other for twenty minutes.

Doo doo doo doo doo...muah muah muah. :bianconero:

and USA pull it that far, the maggots didn't lost in 60 minutes, so im fucking happy :D our chances against Canada are something like 10-15%, but our chances to get in quarters were pretty much the same. that would be some historic shit if we did make banana yogurt our of the biggest candidates on the title :xfinger:

Russians got soo fucking lucky, it easily could have gone in both ways, good example by the Belarus how to play against a big side, use your chances at 5v4 or 5v3 and strong defence. Tonight im definetly going to cheer for Finnland, screw USA.

Now this is some hilarious shit: :rofl2:

0:0 after first period, seems like Canada is still sleeping. Hopefully they won't wake up :p Their goalie seems shite, altough he is the best gk of the tournament according to statistics

Well we gave them a good fight, great year in WC for us has come to logical end. Hopefully Sweden wins tonight, would be a good semi-final, Czechs seemed useless against Canada earlier in the tournament. Today Canada looked pretty similar to Russia yesterday, technically superior, but undisciplined. I dislike the first three semi-finalists, so hopefully the winner of the last quarter-final will do great things in the tournament. Forza Europe! :)
