I come from a country and region where the ultras are one big problem. Huge problem not only for the clubs, but also for the states.
The Croatian players are regularly being beaten by the ultras, the Croatian, Serbian and Bosnian clubs are regularly being banned or fined due to the trouble the fans create.
Racist chants, songs where the ultras sing how the wifes or the daughters of some players/owners are filthy whores etc. You name it. They say everything and the clubs or NTs are being the victims in the end.
Only 1-2 months ago the Dinamo Zagreb fans made quite a mess which resulted with points deduction (later changed to 75 000 fine + disqualification from all UEFA competitions for a probationary period of three years). Only two months ago a French guy, fan of Touluse was killed in Belgrade by the ultras.
There are hundreds of similar cases only in the last decade.
I want to say that hardly anyone here despises those brainless, uneducated fucktards more than I do. I'll give it to the ultras that they can create a good atmosphere, but in the end it's worth nothing when you see what are they doing.
The mentality of the Italians, especially the southerns, is very similar to the ones from the Balkans. Some circumstances made them less dangerous and less violent than the Balkan ultras, but they're the same shit.
I'm aware of the racism there and it's impossible and stupid to defend those clowns.
I don't think that Andy or Rab or anyone else here defended them. But when we laugh at the chant sang by them, even if we accept that they mean it in a racist connotation or that they are racists, we know that we don't mean it that way and we know that we mean it in a funny way. None of us wants Balotelli to really die.
So lets cut the crap all of us, because in essence we all agree here.
