I'm astounded by the idiocy displayed by the entire planet right now. Balotelli CLEARLY thought he was offside. It is as clear as anything. He even stops running! Doesn't look at the net! Misses the goal by 5 feet! Points to the linesman!

Everyone is just so quick to hate on him (with good reason sometimes) but let's open our eyes when we watch what he did please.

I don't think Balotelli thought he was offside. He was just trying to cover himself after doing something stupid.

Mancini is right to sub him and accuse him of not taking the game seriously.

He is not even facing the net when he does the backheel.

I can tell which forum members were defenders and which were strikers and which never played the sport at all.

Balotelli <3
I love that dude! I want him here nao! Or at least in Calcio. Milan would be the best team for him IMO....if he misbehaves Gattuso will be there to give him a smack-down and Seedorf could mentor him and what not.

Doesn't explain your previous post.
I have to explain to you why that matters? That move requires a lot more effort than what he gave in order to cut the ball onto goal. It's extremely hard to do. He would have to move his body as he turned. He doesn't even try to. He hits it with the inside of his backheel which is standard for when you want to backheel the ball onto the same plane you are facing. And since he knows he's facing 5 feet wide, it means he meant to smack the ball away instead of on the net.

And then he doesn't even look to see if he scored after.

I know there is a lot of hate for Balotelli here, but I would pay 40 mil € for him in a heartbeat. Balotelli is probably in the top 3 most talented players under the age of 21. Really incredible how good he is at his age. He won many points for Inter when they won the treble and was probably their 12th man at the age of 19.

P.S. Balotelli obviously thought he was offside.
