Chievo fans disgust Balo Wednesday 6 January, 2010

Inter striker Mario Balotelli says he is disgusted with the way Chievo fans behaved towards him this afternoon.
The 19-year-old scored Inter's winning goal in their 1-0 victory over Chievo and was booed after going down too easily on more than one occasion.
Speaking after the game, Balotelli told Sky Sport Italia: “I want to say one thing. Every time I come here to Verona I understand that these fans disgust me even more.”
It's not the first time Balotelli has been the subject of chants and whistles this season.
Juventus were fined after a section of their fans were heard singing: “If you jump, Balotelli will die.”

Chievo hit back at Balotelli Wednesday 6 January, 2010

Chievo have reacted furiously to Mario Balotelli's accusations. “It's better he never comes back to Verona again.”
The Inter striker scored the only goal in this morning's game and said the crowd in Verona “disgusts me more every time.”
There were some jeers aimed at the controversial forward, but Chievo insist they were not racist in nature.
“Balotelli mustn't dare to insult the people of Verona,” slammed President Luca Campedelli.
“He is a professional, he needs to accept that opposition fans will jeer him if he makes mistakes. Balotelli was not subjected to racist chants today, he was only whistled. The only racist noises I heard were from the Inter fans against our player Luciano.”
Chievo Coach Mimmo Di Carlo also pointed out that Super Mario is not new to causing controversy.
“Balotelli above all needs to look at his own behaviour, as everywhere he goes people say the same things. Mario must understand he has to change his attitude,” said the tactician.
“In all honesty, I didn't hear any racist chants. It seems normal that an opponent is jeered. The Verona crowd has always behaved well and Chievo see fair play as a priority.”
Goalkeeper Stefano Sorrentino was particularly harsh when told of the comments to Sky Italia television.
“If he really said those things about the city, then it's better he never comes back to Verona again. A player must learn to accept being jeered. The only racist insults I heard today were targeted at our player Luciano.”
