I could imagine Secco dreaming about Treze/Poulsen-Xabi/Dossena deal tonight :) L'pool would probably ask for both of them for Xabi, but never mind as everyone here prefers Andre Santos now :) We would have CM for no cash and an option of Santos and Santacroce for about 6M each, with Mellberg, Grygera and Marchionni leaving for about 3M each. But we would also end with no money for Trez replacement, so Aquafresca for lets say De Ceglie would be top of our means.

BTW I wouldn't mind Santos-Santon-Santacroce trio :p
ahahaha it would be too many S-es, like SSS :)

Hamsik and Santacroce for 1/2 of DC + Tiago + 15 Million Euros
need more. and i don't want to lose DC. So let's say hamsik + santa for tiago + 20-25 mil and we are ok.

sure its a big price but our team may be ready for next year(we need a right back too but if we complete this deal i don't mind)...

Not quite. We still need to get upgrades for our fullback positions. It's like having a nice Ferrari F50 running on a Supra Engine :p

Inter have Maicon, Santon, and Maxwell, while we have Moli, Grygera, and Zebina :disagree: :moan: :sigh:

I don't think either Xabi or Melo are realistic options. But for sure those two would be fantastic signings. I for one would cream myself if we were able to purchase Melo.

Trezeguet is our only natural finisher and goal poacher in the team. I think all top sides need to have such a player in their roster.

But I know you won't agree because you hate Trezeguet, so there's no use for me here.
I don't hate him,I just find him a luxury not a necessity in the team. He can be natural all he want but these two are better players ATM. When he will be able to goal poach if he doesn't play? And all top sides don't need to have Goal poachers, take a look at Barca nad ManU,take a look at inter, liverpool and Chelsea.....they don't have goal poachers, btw,Inter does, and he never plays(Hernan).

And for renewing his contract, that means nothing except shelling out 5m€ more
Correct.
The buy-out clause set at 25m tells you everything. With that buy-out clause Fiorentina are telling the world that he's for sale, but he won't come cheap. "Give us 20m and he's all yours".

if 20mil is what would get him....I really dunno why the board doesn't cope with 25mil more, that would buy us 2 Brazil standards. And many will ask where to find a 25 mil......sign a shirt sponsor with Lybia or wealthy chinese,i don't care

You are exaggerating IMO.
I might be, but look at it this way.
Last year we were after him and we were ready to pay around 16m eur. Liverpool wanted to buy Barry and sell Xabi. Liverpool were asking 20m which, if you remember, for everyone here, including Aaron, was way too much. I remember Aaron saying many times that Liverpool were greedy.

So last year, something between 16-18m eur for Xabi Alonso, who was a very good player, winner of CL and EURO, was considered a fair price. And i think it was indeed a fair price.

This year Xabi had a very good season. He had indeed. He is 28 now.
I'm not saying that he's old, because he certainly isn't, but i do think that it was the best from him. He was in perfect age to give his best. I don't think he can do better. The most he can give are equally good performances for a season or maybe two, and then it's gonna be downhill for him.

I wanna say that i think that something between 16-18, i'll give it even 20m, is a fair price for him.

Now Poulsen and Trezeguet. Many don't rate Poulsen but i rate him high. We paid 9.75m eur for him and that was a fair price. That should still be a fair price for him.
For Trez 99% of us last year thought that the 20m eur offered by Barcelona isn't enough. Now that he spent more than half a season injured we don't rate him at all.
I still believe that Trez is worth at least 9-10m.

So by MY calculations, Poulsen for ~9m and Trez for 9-10m equals the fair price for Xabi Alonso.
Of course, Pool don't need any of Poulsen or Trez so it's useless discussing this. I was talking theory here.
