With zlatan likely to leave and rumors of Gila joining us.....one might think that zlatan will be off to Real Madrid this summer for Cassano + Cash??

with that in hand we would have something like this lined up cassano/gila/trez/suazo/dp all fighting for a starting position

what do you think?

I think Zlatan will go to Manchester United. Cassano will stay with Madrid. Gilardino will not come to Juve, Zlatan's replacement will be Suazo. Mutu will be the forward and we'll have Del Piero, Mutu, Trezeguet, Suazo and one of the primavera players as our five forwards.

Wouldn't bet against this

Zlatan to united would be nice in exchange for CR7 and cash. Cassano is such a waste in madrid, i really see him coming back this summer to the serie A and hopefully to Juve. Suazo would definitly be a big score he will be welcomed with open arms..... As for Mutu, if the don is still here with his boring ass tactics. It will be another season for mutu playing as winger and not in his natural position as a forward....that would be sad....

where will zala, olivera, zebina, pessoto and the rest of the crew go?

I don't even think that Zlatan will be heading to United in exchange for C. Ronaldo. This transfer will be just cash.

Even with Capello staying as manager, Mutu's role will be up front if players like Sneijder, Joaqin and/or Mancini arrive. There will be no need for him to play off-position.

I would absolutely love if Zebina was given to the Spurs with a bunch of cash for Michael Carrick, as he is very underrated and would easily add some sense to our midfield. I know this is rather unlikely, however it's still pretty to look at. I think it's time we change our transfer policy and actually take some chances on younger starlets for a change.

Buffon

Oddo - Gallas - Cannavaro - Zambrotta

Vieira - Carrick - Sneijder

Joaquin - Trezeguet - Mutu

Pessotto is retiring after this season as he said many times...

I have no idea who Carrick is, but I'll take your word for it. I was just expressing my wishes to have Van Bommel in the team as I see no use for him with Barcelona now that Xavi is back.

I like the fact that Sneijder is being well appreciated, I want him, Stuart included him in a formation and now you.

My formation came out like this, pretty similar to yours

Buffon

Oddo Gallas Cannavaro Zambrotta

Mancini Van Bommel Vieira Sneijder

Trezeguet Mutu

I've seen plenty of Michael Carrick in past seasons and he was always regarded as a super talent while at West Ham. I rate him as a decent and solid midfielder.

But is he good enough for Juve? I have my doubts

Would he shine in the latter stages of the Champions League? I have my doubts

4-4-2 again eh? :p i like the team though, especially the defens, but i see you being a bit too optimistic, can we really get oddo and gallas both, mancini buying or a swapdeal?

You have not yet seen Michael Carrick tear up the pitch for Tottenham this season? He has been wonderful throughout the entire year and is one of the best passers and posession keepers in the EPL. He is similar to Xabi Alonso and seems to have a great future ahead of him, only being 24 years old if I remember correctly. I would easily start him for England if I was Sven. Carrick lays in some pretty nice through balls as well, something this side desperately needs. The only negative about Carrick is that he is not entirely sound defensively, however with Vieira and Sneijder in midfield we should be set in that regard.

Carrick, Rosicky, Xavi, Pizarro, Sneijder, van Bommel...we need one of these players or somebody similar to simply give us some ideas in midfield.

Well, I don't think he would do that much worse than some of our players did against Arsenal...Carrick was the man of the match against them a couple weeks ago, absolutely owning the midfield. He's very underrated indeed.

van Bommel would be a good signing as he certainly can pass the ball, however he's getting too old now and he's no Rosicky or Xavi for that matter.

It just makes me wonder why we did not go after van Bommel last season...I mean we always look for free transfers and this guy was easily one of the best available. But Moggi seemingly did not go after him and perhaps Mark wanted to meet up with Rijkaard anyway despite knowing he would not get much playing time.

He opted for the 20 million € Vieira instead :wallbang:

Well, even if he's old, with him, Emerson and Vieira there should be some rotation.
