Oh yeah, I remember seeing your site now. :)

Yeah I'm not very happy about what the new owner did to Juventuz, he killed all the content except the forum. It used to be much more than a forum. But what can you do.

You know I got one of those emails too, I was using the domain juventusfc.net. Had to give it up. That was before I came up with juventuz.

I remember there used to be a French site that had tremendous content and very up to date, remember that one? It had a long history and a lot of people participating in it. I wonder what happened to it.
They can be real bastards, those Juve solicitors - I got the letter in the post, recorded mail and then another one informing me that all the images on the site were used illegally. They asked for 30,000 Euros, i told them to bugger off and took the site down - Not too fussed this time round as i've got various disclaimers and there are very few images on the site.

Real shame that the content got wiped from Juventuz.com - I used to visit it all the time - as i say, it provided a lot of inspiration.

I noticed that the club have bought up a number of redundant domains that now point to the official site :)

I remember the French site as well - we had links with them for a while - quite a few of the really decent Juventus sites are now dead and buried - real shame, but as you say, what can you do ?

I got a threat like that too, from a photography firm. Like everyone else I had been using images freely from any source I could get. After one scudetto I put up a series of picture from the celebration and that one apparently is what got to them, they sent me screenshots and stuff. I took it down. After that I never used their pictures again, which is a real shame since a lot of people would have liked to see them.

Well that's the way it works. One person does something they feel like doing, someone else gets inspired. I certainly didn't invent anything new or do anything special. In fact, I planned out my site so that it would take the minimal amount of upkeep, so I could just post news and update some scores and that's all. Designing for laziness is really the best investment you can make :)

Yeah, and it's completely pointless for them to be paying that 10 bucks a year for each of those domains and do nothing with them. Some fan could use it for a website and it would actually be put to good use.

There was a golden age for fansites once. I don't think there are as many around now. Although some of the large ones have really grown quite professional, like juvepoland for instance have a lot of content, timely, translated. Some arabic sites have excellent media service and stuff.

Sad stuff, no two ways about it - They closed a number of sites in Western Europe and the majority of sites that now operate seem to be based in the UAE, China and the Balkans.

More power to them, i say - I hope they manage to keep going !

On a side note, apologies to anyone that tried to complete the poll and couldn't - I had a minor issue with the form processor on the page - all fixed now !

    Thanks again guys and gals

No, but it didn't have to be, I set it up that way. And still, some was purely historical so you didn't have to do anything with that, just leave it.

That was the beauty of it - there was a lot of excellent information - It serves as a great resource.

Having said that, I remember signing up for the newsletter and gettings updates 2/3 times a day ! I'm sure the news was updated all the time, or was that just in the early days ?

Cheers for the feedback vlatko - It's a real labour of love at the moment - need to get some advertising revenue or something to keep it afloat ! :)

No, it was. The news was the only thing I had to update all the time and I did that just about everyday.

Advertising revenue lol. Biggest inside joke of the internet :D

LOL, I just threw a bunch of personal favourites in there and mixed them with the essential Scirea and Platini. :p

    Buffon
    Ferrara-Canna-Scirea-Torricelli
    Platini-Zidane-Davids-Nedved
    Trezeguet-Del Piero

Yeah, I remember, there was actually something to read here.

The site sucks now, which is a shame because it has real potential...just needs someone to dedicate his time to it.

The site content is saved but it was Rami that nagged that he wanted to update the site so Marty switched it to Word Press so we can edit it. Word Press sucks for a site and Rami disappeared into the blogging world. After that no one asked Marty to bring the contect back up again.

I blame the bloggers, I actually always do.

I still have all the content on disk. Do you think maybe Marty would agree to have an archival version of the site up? I could upload all the pages before he reformatted them and screwed it up a bit.

It would not be anything active, just something for people to see how the site was like once.

Wha..? Please expand on this comment - sounds like you have an opinion on the matter :)
Well, suffice it to say that I experimented with advertising myself for a while. After all it costs something to run a site. And I got some advertisers to pay for ads, which I imagine they saw no return on. And after that the advertising market bombed and noone could get anyone to pay for ads anymore. That's around the time when Google Ads appeared. I tried those too, but it wasn't producing any revenue at all.

I would like to have a site, a real one. Not Word Press crap. On that site, having the classical content in one of the links would be great. A nostalgia button for example, with your picture behind a lake or something, I remember it very vaguely.

I should ask Marty myself. Do you know how to get a hold of him?

Actually, I could even host the pages myself, he'd only have to link to it.

Glad i'm not the only one ! - 2 months with Google ads, generating an astounding...... £0.42 !!! Trying out Betfair at the moment - will see how that works out.

You should bring back a version of the site - even if it's just static with lots of info on past campaigns.

I either SMS him or catch him on MSN. I can send you either coordinate, you choose.
