yeah... if that's the type of cable you want to get an extension for, then you can. any computer hardware store should have longer cables and adapters to conncect multiple cables together.

That cable is called an RJ-45. and you can get an adapter for it to connect another one. :)
No it's not you lamer, RJ-45 is the name of the connector itself (http://www.nullmodem.com/RJ-45.htm), the cable goes by the name Graham mentioned, unshielded twisted pair, cat 5 probably.

I know :) ... Did I say otherwise when Graham posted it's exact name?! :confused:

but when you walk in the hardware store and ask for an RJ-45 cable, they'll know exactly what you mean because it's the common name. She'd also want an adapter to connect two of them together, so saying an RJ-45 extension adapter would also be understood.

you have to take into consideration your audience ;) ... Technical communication 101. Both Graham and I did that. Graham with his question and me with the solution :p
