Those are both great. I've had the chance to watch them perform both live a couple of years ago. You might want to check out Dave Clarke, Laurent Garnier and Chris Liebing if you're into that style.
I've heard a little of Dave Clarke, like his Zombie Nation remix on Bugged Out which is pretty cool. I've never really heard much of Laurent Garnier and Chris Liebing is awesomeeeeeeeeeee. Love the CLR podcasts.

Just watch this to see the greatness of DOOM lyrics

I wouldn't have were it not for my best high school friend who made me listen all the time :)
Fair enough

Not familiar with DOOM, but I'm pretty sure that's a controversial opinion right there. Nas is simply the best, imo.
Nas has nothing on DOOM. DOOM is like a modern day shakespeare. His lyrics are out of this world.

I know Doom, both are two of the greatest no doubt. But to say that Nas has nothing on him is BS.

This. Even thoguh he may not be quite the best but definitely better than DOOM.
No way.

I know Doom, both are two of the greatest no doubt. But to say that Nas has nothing on him is BS.
Ok that's a bit far. But DOOM is still better than Nas.

some great Nas lines:

'Time to start the revolution, catch a body head for Houston
Once they caught us off guard, the Mac-10 was in the grass and
I ran like a cheetah with thoughts of an assassin
Pick the Mac up, told brothers, "Back up," the Mac spit
Lead was hittin niggaz one ran, I made him backflip
Heard a few chicks scream my arm shook, couldn't look
Gave another squeeze heard it click yo, my shit is stuck
Try to cock it, it wouldn't shoot now I'm in danger
Finally pulled it back and saw three bullets caught up in the chamber
So now I'm jetting to the building lobby
and it was filled with children probably couldn't see as high as I be
(So whatchu sayin?) It's like the game ain't the same
Got younger niggaz pullin the triggers bringing fame to they name
and claim some corners, crews without guns are goners
In broad daylight, stickup kids, they run up on us
Fo'-fives and gauges, Macs in fact
Same niggaz'll catch a back to back, snatchin yo' cracks in black'

'It drops deep as it does in my breath
I never sleep, cause sleep is the cousin of death'

'Wake up in the morning, shake my third leg in the toilet
oozie on the night stand
I'm the man you go to war with
Not the man you go to war against
Patience, i'll get you if that means I can't sleep a whole year
I'mma get you, I'm official
Not a tisket or a tasket
I'll put you in the casket
With the biscuit or the ratchet'

'Jesus died at age 33, there's thirty-three shots
from twin glocks there's sixteen apiece, that's thirty-two
Which means, one of my guns was holdin 17
Twenty-seven hit your crew, six went into you'

compared to DOOM

'Phantom of the Grand Old Opry ask the dumb hottie
Masked pump shottee
Somebody stop me
Hardly come sloppy on a retarded hard copy
After rockin' parties he departed in a jalopy'

'Watch the droptop pop
Known as the grimy limey slimy
Try me blimey
Simply smashing in a fashion that's timely
Mad Villain dashing in a beat rhyme crime spree
We rock the house like rock 'n roll
Got more soul
Than a sock with a hole'

'He wears a mask just to cover the raw flesh
A rather ugly brother with flows that's gorgeous
Drop-dead joints hit the whips like birdshit
They need it like a hole in the dead or a third tit'

'What up
To all rappers shut up with ya shuttin up
And keep your shirt on, at least a button up
Yuck, is they rhymers or strippin males?
Outta work jerks since they shut down Chippendale's
They chippin nails, Doom... jippin scales
Let alone the pre-orders that's counted off shippin sales
This one goes out to all my peoples skippin bail
Dippin jail, whippin tail, and sippin ale
Light the doobie til it glow like a ruby
After which they couldn't find the Villain like Scooby'

'True, there's rules to this shit, fools dare care
Everybody wanna rule the world with tears for fear
Yeah yeah tell 'em tell it on the mountain hill
Runnin up they mouth bill, everybody doubtin still
Informer, keep it up and get tested
Pop through the bubble vest or double breasted
He keep a lab down south in the little beast
So much heat you woulda thought it was the middle east
A little grease always keeps the wheels a spinnin
Like sittin on twenty threes to get the squeelers grinnin
Hittin on many trees, feel real linen
Spittin on enemies, get the steel for tin men
Where no brains but gum flap
He said his gun clap, then he fled after one slap
(Pat!) son shut your trap, save it for the bitches
MMM...delicious, rap snitch knishes'

'It's the beat
He hear it in his sleep sometime
Blare it in your jeep so your peoples can stare at them rhymes
Real rhymes not your everyday hologram
Even when ribs were touchin never swallowed the Ham
He'd rather eat a sand sandwich salad
It might need salt like your mans bland ballad
A lot of stuff happens that the news won't tell yous
Loose all L juice
Snooze all hell loose
Rake it
Take it like the good, the bad, the ugly
Break it rollin through ya hood in the cadi buggy
Butter softy, leather flossy, fatty juggy
Always threw me off when she told me daddy funk me'

DOOM is something else. Don't get me wrong, I love Nas and he is amazing but DOOM is really out of this world.

Different styles, it all comes down to preference in the end. But I get what you're saying.

Okay, fuck, I can't take it. Tell me the 3 best DOOM songs and let me listen and judge.
Doom has a different style so you might not like him on first listen. And I'd suggest listening to a whole project instead of only three songs.

So you agree :p nah, it's alright, you like Nas more I get that but you gotta agree DOOM's lyrics are just better (for lack of a better word).

This. He doesn't have a traditional flow and his voice is quite monotonous. It's a bit of an acquired taste but nevertheless:

IMO some of his very best lyrics are in this one, especially towards the end.

I don't really have a preference between them, but I do listen to Nas more. :D But like I said, I wouldn't say DOOM's necessarily better lyrically, just a different type of lyricism. Doom perfects his own style, while Nasir does the same with his.
