Cheers and welcome, Yann. :pint:

Skills? You mean like mouthing off about totally inane stuff? Yeah, we've got that. ;) Amazing, isn't it?

When posting here, definitely search first before starting new threads. Chances are your question isn't entirely unique and people have been discussing the subject already.

In the meantime...

Web/PC: http://www.juventuz.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=34

Education: we're all educated here. ;)

And I recommend that you change the country in your User CP setup. The Afghan flag has unfortunately become the trademark of lame spammers here that get ridiculed on a regular basis.

If you're one of the people who's been posting 20 spam threads a day, then thank you, I pride myself on my ability to make threads disappear within seconds of them being opened :D

Unfortunately, me thinks this is just yet another automated wanker running XRumer. All its posts here seem to be by people with one, irrelevant (usually spam) post, with a country of Afghanistan, with a post in Off-Topic, and with this post icon:
.

If Marty doesn't have a way to prevent these, I'm sure I can come up with something. :D

Couldn't all Afghan members be automatically banned before they can even post? I mean, no racism involved, Talibans are welcome, but seriously...

And what the hell is Xrumer?

There are likely better, and less controvertial, ways of handling that.

And what the hell is Xrumer?
I didn't know until one of the spam posts today told me about it. It appears to be some piece of software that allows a user to post a message (most likely spam) to hundreds of online forums at once -- likely automating things like registration, e-mail confirmation, etc.

Gaga gaga indeed...

I thought we discussed a long time ago the possibility of disabling users from posting new threads until they have at least X posts in the forum. I say 20 is a good number.

why not just change the list of available nationalities and add a country named "AAAAA" from which everybody who registers is banned

Yeah but then the spammers would just choose the second country down the list etc etc

It's a terrible idea unless we put "United States" up as "America" in the list :toast:

Yes, but if the accounts being created are indeed automated, we'll be able to filter most of them out.

:howler:
