The last time I played, I got clotheslined, literally.
Too many things got in my way in my playing days...like investigating life! I call those my "carefree days" when life was just one big adventure & I never gave tomorrow a thought! Don't get me wrong, I'm still up for La Dolce Vita, but nobody will get anything out of me the following day!

i used to play as a sweeper behind the back three , ah those good old days when
this system was in vogue we had matches almost every week, in recent years to left back when we switch to a flat back four ,shit couldn't do all that overlapping runs anymore so focus on five a side game on the indoor turf alas short lived as
recently had severe spine injury so retired for good so now only the action i get is on the bed sigh

(1)After this injury, i have decided to quit playing the game. I love it so much but i cannot afford to be off work for so long.
(2)In the back of my mind i will always be afraid to get injured again.
The advice of an older man...
point 1, what you need to do In the short term you earn your living. During this time you consider exactly what you want from life, & then you go for it. Sounds to me playing fooball to you is an interest, albeit a strong one, but a hobby, & you treat it accordingly.
point 2, you can't let your mind go down this road & I'm talking about life, not just football. Driving is my work & 30 years ago I almost died behind the wheel. I put it out of my head & got back in my car as soon as I was able.

Well i live for the game, football is my life, it always has been. but as you stated you consider exactly what you want from life, & then you go for it, i have too many dreams and ambitions and therefore i cannot afford to lose time and money over the game. I have lost thousands of dollars because of this injury. Im sure that one day i will be back out there playing, but it wont be for a long time. I need to be completely sure of myself, there is no chance i will even consider running with this injury fresh in my mind.
