The way I see it, the US has the advantage in Goal and on Defence, but the Netherlands have a slight advantage in forwards, but a HUGE advantage in the Midfield.

I say slight advantage for the forwards because Donovan really is a fantastic young player.

This match will be won or lost in the Midfield, and as much as I like Bobby Convey and Demarcus Beasley, they will certainly have their hands full.

Congrats, Ian. Wait until she can see clearly in a few weeks and realize that her Uncle was a stunt double for the "Matrix Reloaded" twins:)

I agree for the most part. Either way - we never perform well in friendlies. Last time we played the US (shortly after Advocaat had started at the NT) we only won 0-1 or something.

    Hey this reminds me.

What is Holland's projected lineup against the U S of A on Wednesday??

I also need to remind myself to tape the damn match.
Here's what I'm expecting but you never can tell with Advocaat.

I can already foresee a problem for the US on the right side with VDV and Seedorf manning the center and right side of the pitch.

However, I like Donovan and McBride's chances against that defence.

Central defence is solid though - Heitinga is already a great defender and under Stam's guidance and supervision he's unlikely to make any mistakes.

    The flank defenders however :nervous:

    My point exactly.

Although Mcbride is more of a north/south type of player, Donovan can do that as well, and create form the right wing, if needed.

    Should be a fun match.

no offence to erik and ian.
but i'm not sure Holland can beat USA in this friendly,i mean its a friendly anything could happen,i wont be surprised if USA win actually.
I'm a big fan of both teams, but realistically, the dutch should win. They are many times better than the US, and unless the dutch fail to show up, the americans will lose.

Last time they played, the Dutch easily ripped apart the american defence and the Americans couldn't get past the dutch defenders. I think that the dutch defence has improved and the American defence is weakened and therefore the Dutch should win in a shutout.

Because "y" and "ij" are the same thing in Dutch.

Van Nistelrooy and Van Nistelrooij are both correct spellings.

    :thumb: Awesome player!

I think/and predict we're good enough to draw. No doubt Holland is one of the best teams on the world, but I won't be surprised if we even win. We have a very organized team and Holland'll have to work their asses off to win.

BTW, It's not like we loose 4-0 every game. I know a couple of big teams who lost 4-0 this week ;)
