Haha, let Burke off the hook on this one, he doesnt feel Lupe, ok.

Atleast tell me you dig the brilliant and suave fucker that is Mos Def?

For the record, I'm not a Lupe fanboy, I am an admirer of his rare talent, but if there is someone I am a fanboy of, then its defenitely Mos Def (only rivaled by Nas when it comes to favourites, and Nas can be annoying at times even if he is a genius). Only unfortunate thing is he isnt a fully dedicated MC because he doesnt release much material despite being around for a while (is busy being a talented frigging Actor, unfortunate for us).

Stuff like this song are instant classics for a reason:

Mos Def is great but not as good as Nas IMO.

Because while preparing for an interview it's not important to shower or dress well because they get to know you for 5 years before they hire you. Jog on.

Plus, I think hip hop died in 2001, maybe even earlier.
Uhhh. :shifty:

Well you like Immortal Technique. His conception was after hip hop died supposedly. Why do you like him?

There is always an exception to the rule.

I like Nas' last album but that was released after 01.....

Cummon, dickhead, you are the one that speaks to semantics at times.

There is no doubt that from 95 to 00 there were better albums than from 00 to 05.

That's what the real point is, and that's what I'm trying to say.

I should have said this: "Except for a handful, there have been no great albums released since 2001."

While I do agree with your middle point, I think you make some contradictions in your post, and that you still haven't given us any real reasoning as to why Lupe is overrated or a bad artist. That's all I'm asking for dude.

Should have said that indeed, its in a weaker state for sure nowadays, quality isnt appriciated when KRS One is selling only in the thousands while likes of Mims ("cuz I'm hot", yeah really) sells platinum. But its allways a foolish and melodramatic BS to say Hiphop is dead, generally not serious with it, only fools are serious.

Btw, arent your favs Little Brother after 2001?

P.S Mos is really creative and brilliant, he has just done too little stuff to show himself off with.

I like Lupe Fiasco, think he's pretty good, but others don't like him for various reasons, such as being friends with Jay-Z.
Yeah, Lupe is my favorite rapper, deep shit.

C'mon it's better than Money, Cash, Hoes all the time, some of his tracks are really ill.

Of course we're fans of LB, Burke just misspoke.

I'm warning the next fanboy who attacks me because my opinion is not the same.
    Then warn me.

    NO ONE COULD!

No matter what, it's all based on opinion.
But that just shows you have no proof for your claims. You say Lupe is overrated, he has lines in his stuff that shows he's very humble, and nobody says he's the best artist ever. So yes, you can't prove he's overrated, which makes your claims very much unfounded. Sorry Burke but this is some crazy stuff here yo.

Give us an article where it says he's better than Nas and I might agree.

but no matter what, no one could PROVE that he is overrated, as ratings depend on opinion.

AND I BET YOU A FUCKING TON that more opinions in this world are against rather than for. SO BOOm, I win, but it can't be proven.

I think the issue has been you havent really expressed your opinion on him much. Thats what Andy meant, really havent said any reasons for it (generally done for opinions).

And Scusi, I thought you earlier said you are a fan of Lil Brother. You told some anecdote of handing out their CD to some dude in a store.
