Ive just recently got back into hip hop. I thought that after 2pac and Biggie died it went downhill big time with Snoop Dogg and Dr Dre loosing form and the emergence of Eminem (I just cant take him seriously). So could anyone please name a few classic hip hop songs that I should download and any tracks that I should have already

Here are, in my opinion the future leaders of where hip-hop is going, in a positive and creative sense.

The Roots- Need I say more? A true hip-hop band.

Kanye West- Brilliant producer, and damn good lyricist with a flow that most rap veterans would kill for.

Blackalicious- If you haven't heard Gift of Gab rhyme, then you aren't a true hip-hopper.

    The Streets- obviously

Talib Kweli- the "other half" of Black Star, but also the better half, IMO

Common- eclectic, smooth, and does his own thing with style. I can respect that.

Dilated Peoples- Someday, this LA based group will hit it big, they deserve to.

Jurassic 5- absolutely amazing group. 4 MC's, 2 DJ's, and some of the best track layering that you'll ever hear.

edit-I copied this from another post I had done about 5 months ago. Didn't feel like doing it again.

    32

Wow, I thought he was younger.

    Nope, he's 32.

Anyway, the big hip-hop album that's coming out will be Nas' "Street's Disciple", coming out on the 28th.

That, and De La Soul's new one "Grind Date" also on the 28th, should set the rap world straight again.

Big, Big day for new releases if you're a hip-hop fan.

Never been that much of a fan of Nasty Nas. :undecide:
The best MC on the planet, and one of the top 5 all-time, along with Tupac, Biggie, Rakim, and Chuck D.
