Hernanes: 'I was already celebrating!'
By Football Italia staff

Hernanes was “already running to celebrate” when Samir Handanovic fingertipped his shot on to the bar.

Would the Juventus midfielder have celebrated if he had scored against his former Inter teammates?

“Of course, I was already running to celebrate when I saw it hit the crossbar!” the Brazilian told Mediaset Premium and Sky Sport Italia after a 2-0 win.

“It was not easy for us to prepare for this game and the emotional impact of what happened on Wednesday,” he said of their comeback from 2-0 down to hold Bayern Munich 2-2.

“We were very enthusiastic and had to make sure we were concentrated too. The second leg of that Champions League tie will be tough, as always, but we can do it.”

Hernanes also joked when asked whether Inter missed his creativity in midfield.

“Nobody missed me until a few days ago, seeing as I never played! Football is like that, it’s constantly changing. You’ve got to keep your feet planted firmly on the ground.

“Playing more often in the role in front of the defence I can get more accustomed to it, learn more tricks of the trade. In that position you need more thought and less instinct. I was used to relying on my instinct, but I am adapting and I think I can do well there.”

Meanwhile Juventus ensure they are top of Serie A regardless of what Napoli do against Fiorentina tomorrow.

“There are another 11 rounds to go and it’s wonderful in this situation because you know it depends only on you. The others have the put in an extra effort to chase you down and recover lost ground.

Thats the giovinco syndrome. When you lose hope on him after he is useless (harmful in hernanes' case) for some prolonged time period, he then has a good game and give you hope again. A good squad player is like Sturaro, Cacares or even Padoin. You know he is not world class but you can trust him to fill sudden gaps in the squad and do so reliably when called upon. His weaknesses are exposed only when he is your starter for a run of games. Hernanes have done so only once so far. He needs to do so consistently before we can change our minds. Since there is very little time left to do so then we should sell him if an offer comes and either replace him with someone who (1) has actual potential to be a very good player so that this player is first a rotation option and then later a starter if he proves himself or someone (2) you know will be a reliable rotation option for a long time like Cacares or Padoin.
how about keep hernanes for two years then we use sensi in that role?
hernanes played well recently. vs city and sevilla , he also played well.
you just want to replace him with another player.

As I expected he proved we can count on him.

He's such a quality and recourceful player but it has to be said Inter fucked him up when he played for them.

Yes replace him with someone more reliable and younger. Why keep an inconsistent old player when you can use the money to get a reliable younger player?

about constitency, how he would be consistent if allegri always switched his position?

Look when allegri choose to put him in regista consistently. he keeps improving. He even showed decent display against bayern. something that marchisio and pirlo failed to do.
He can give something different when he play.

He played bad when the entire team played bad as well. And when the team started winning, then he was injured.

Look at him for Bayern's second goal. Now shut the fuck up.
