A very solid pick up.

Deadball specialist, good passer, versatility, and grit. He's not Gotze or Isco but you can rest assured that he'll play his ass off for us.

Good luck Hernanes, prove the haters wrong.

All I can see here is how beastly Vidal was.
That was my first thought. It just made me miss Vidal. Our midfield was pure steel before. Hopefully Lemina can be 1/2 of what Vidal was...

He definitely filled a need. Our set pieces were crap, and we had serious injuries throughout the mf.

Hernanes is two footed, a heck of a dribbler, can play in deep or advanced playmaker roles, and can take all of our set pieces. We've definitely improved with him.

Me too  HOLY FUCK was he beastly, look at how he hounds Hernanes around 00.35 and forward, we TOOK THAT FOR GRANTED FOR 4 FUCKING YEARS.

Fvck, why did I have to watch that...
Alas, we haven't seen that Vidal in over a year though.

I did, just few months ago. Last 3 months of the season he was back to such type of defensive intensity. What was missing was the top class defensive contribution.

Also I have watched Bayern games, which is very hard for me to do for full 90 mins, because of him. He litterally frees up everyone to do whatever they like forward. He is bit shackled since he doesnt get to attack much, but dammit if he doesnt defend like a possessed hyena.

He said it after a game in recent European U-21 championship, he was pissed, absolutely brilliant quote, I just hope he elevates to a degree where he can back up these awesome words :D

Vidal was a Lion, Sturaro is just a cub for now. Very aggressive and hungry cub.
Aren't you Somali? This is a very overused part of an Arabic poem. It's kind of a cliche for an Arab.

We sure did. We don't yet realise what we're missing without Vidal but it'll become more and more obvious as the season goes on, and especially in the CL.

Remember 2-0 down against Chelsea, Vidal is injured, yet he still scores a goal with his weaker foot to bring us back into the game. That's Vidal, a true warrior.

That statement goes to 11
I know, but meant he needs to live up to his part of being in the lion pack. His performance vs Real in first time was a good start tho.

There's a difference between intensity and reckless fouling. He blurred that line towards the end of the season, always on the border of getting a second yellow.

He almost lost his head on occasion (CL final was such a big example), but he allways kinda been like that. What I allways found remarkable about him is how he never gotten that 2nd yellow (can you remember such cases?). Most players who get a yellow, they either get scared away from doing any more tackles, play cautiously/too timid, or lose it and get it (Chiellini, Caceres, and Licht are such players). With him, he had this very disciplined and extreme fine line dancing where he still played with intensity, but just more controlled and smarter, still wrecked shit, but knew just when to not go too hard in a sitaution to not tempt the ref, it did not alter his performance, and IMO was such a display of supreme quality and controll. He makes tackling an art form these days, despite being ridicolously complete player.

P.S Red card bit is for Juve, I seen him lose it utterly and get red card several times for Chile :D

He definitely did preoccupy opponents so that others can do other things.

That was not a skill by vidal, but more bias of referees towards bigger teams and stars with a name. Let some hack from perugia do exact the same tackles and watch him hit the shower before the half time break.

That's like saying Neymar has the skill to never get yellow cards for his diving. It's preferential treatment for the big name by the referee not a skill set

I allways thought you were one of the more disagreeably clueless posters around, thanks for confirming it further.

There is one Juve player who gets away with more then he should because he is a Juve player, and it never was Vidal, but allways been the mindless brutish ways of Chiellini.
