Grievous bodily harm
Totally off topic...

WGBH in Boston is America's premiere public television station and sponsors the majority of the nationwide PBS productions (or at least the good ones, it seems). A friend who used to work there told me that the "Grievous Bodily Harm" line was one of their favorite takes on the station's call letters. (It's supposed to stand for "Great Blue Hills".)

can you say the reasons behind it :D and how you talked your way out?
Typical case of a big mouth. Once I was in a bad mood, walking to my house, the street is blocked because of some minor incident involving a cyclist. So I stop at the ribbon line. First thing the cop says is: "Your shoelace is loose"

Alright fair enough so I tie it, get back up and he keeps blocking my way. So I go: "What? You want a cookie?"

- "Funny man. You can't pass here son"
- "I live right over there"
- "You'll have to walk around this street"
- "That's an extra mile easy!"
- "So?"
- "So??!! I'd like to see YOU move your fat donut arse an extra mile through this criminal neighbourhood. See if you like it!"

I had really smoothtalk him there - got away with a mere ticket for insulting an officer of state or summat.

My most recent incident was the last time I went to Lagos...

My girl tells me I have a face that would attract the police at any time, and maybe that's what happened.

As you very well know, Lagos is one of the world's centres of internet fraud, I went on official assignment, and here I was (the morning after flying in) waiting for a cab and carrying a laptop.

The next thing this police car pulls up and out jump 3 policemen. They want to see what I have in the bag. I open the bag and behold it is a laptop. I show them my ID, but they insist on seeing the receipt (which happens to be back in Abuja), so I tell them sorry.
They want to carry me away then I make 2 mistakes: first I let them know that I know my rights (that annoys almost any Nigerian policeman), then because I have scoped them as people I could handle (ex-military arrogance) I get involved in a struggle for the laptop with 2 of them. More police arrive at the scene and I am over powered and forced into a patrol car.

The mood those animals are in, I see myself spending a long time in detention (and of course they had no intention of allowing me my phone call), so I reach an agreement with their superior when I get to the police station (I had to identify myself of course, and when he heard who my dad was, it smoothened the path). So I am set free, I go to work, then fly back to the safety of Abuja.

9 times. Last time was last weekend. Already told the msners about it. Sucked :D

Mostly just the usual one nighters. And sometimes for refusing to allow police to search me. I dont see why I should allow them.
