Bayerns best signings under Salihamidžić

1. Alphonso Davies (2018, approx. €10 million from Vancouver Whitecaps)
A bargain. Became one of the world’s best left-backs in record time.

2. Leon Goretzka (2018, free transfer from Schalke 04)
Extremely cost-effective signing.

3. Jamal Musiala (2019, small fee from Chelsea academy)
Developed into a world-class player.

4. Benjamin Pavard (2019, €35 million from Stuttgart)
Surprisingly reliable and versatile.

⚠️ Worst Signings Under Salihamidžić

1. Lucas Hernandez (2019, €80 million from Atlético Madrid)
Club’s most expensive signing, plagued by injuries.

2. Bouna Sarr (2020, approx. €8 million from Marseille)
Level far below Bayern standards.

3. Sadio Mané (2022, approx. €32 million from Liverpool)
High expectations, but underperformed and had internal conflicts.

4. Marcel Sabitzer (2021, €15 million from RB Leipzig)
Brought in as depth, but failed to impress.

This is getting really confusing:
Whats the designation of Cheillini, Comoli, and now possibly Salihamidzic?
Not really. This was how we always operated until very recently.

Comolli – General Manager: Oversees the entire men’s football department, managing all aspects of its operations. He will also work on the financial side as well, taking on much of Calvo’s former duties.

Chiellini – Head of Football Strategy: Responsible for shaping the club’s short- and long-term football strategy. Acts as a cultural ambassador, helping players understand what it means to represent Juventus, and serves as a bridge between management and the squad.

New Sporting Director: Leads recruitment, transfers, and player contract negotiations. Works closely with the coach to build a squad aligned with the tactical and strategic needs of the team.

We haven’t operated in this way in years. For some reason, we gave roles to the likes of Paratici and Giuntoli where they were basically one-man rulers and ran rough shod over all aspects of the club, doing multiple roles at once.

Hernandez - sold for €45 million with 1 year left on his contract

Mane - sold for €30 million after 1 season

Sabitzer - sold for €19 million

Even his "worst signings" resulted in solid resale value. Even someone like Gravenberch, who did nothing at Bayern, was bought for a relatively low fee and flipped a year later for double what they paid for him.

If those are your "worst signings" and have guys like Musiala, Goretzka, Davies, and Pavard as successful signings, that's a fine resume in the market.

His biggest flaw was their inflated wage structure, which was partially a result of winning the sextuple and then having to pay a lot of those players shortly after.
