Nope.. Our official airline is Gulf Air.. and since you're studying to be a pilot, then might I suggest you try Qatar as well? They have a great airline too.. the best in the Gulf at the moment..

That's not what I've heard. There are plenty of muslims in this city describing anyone who doesn't follow Islam as a kaffir. It seems to have a negative connotation too, just like the Jewish equivalent "goy".
Generally these people actually fall under the category "Aasi" I think... definitely not kaffir no?

Actually Ali, the word "Kafar" which is root word of Kaffir, means "to conceal". When Islam started the word Kaffir was used because a "Kaffir" is knowingly or unknowingly concealing the truth.
Shouldnt that be the Munafiq though?

Anyway, Ramadhan starts tomorrow in Malaysia!! I can honestly say this is THE BEST TIME OF THE YEAR. I really, really, really really really love the period between Ramadhan and of course Eid ul Fitr! The feeling throughout this whole month is just uncomparable! I cannot wait to go for the first Tarawikh tonight, waking up in the morning tomorrow, get something to eat, fast the whole day, and of course at the end of the day, go to the bazaars and see all kinds of food being displayed! Breaking the fast is the best part and the tarawikh later on!

It just gives me a really strong sense of unity. So fellow muslim sisters and brothers, enjoy this wonderful month!

ps - it will also be the first time in my life that school is open throughout the whole month of Ramadhan. It will be nice fasting with my friends in school

Usually no because Ramadhan here usually comes at the end of the year and by then school would be closed. We've had several Ramadhan weeks, maybe two weeks maximum in school. But this will be my first time fasting in school throughout the whole month :)

One of the best parts is that school will end at 12.30 pm throughout Ramadhan.. it usually ends at 1.20pm :D

No Sally, A "Munafiq" is a hypocrite, that declares to be a muslim, but inside he does not believe in Islam. What I said is the opposite:D

ramadhan starts here tomorrow.though i think fasting will be a wee bit tougher this year coz the weather isnt cool.its still slightly hot.
what i dread is fasting during INTENSE heat.that wont be hapenning for another 6-7 years ofcourse, but still.

somehow,eid-ul-fitr makes me more happy than eid-ul-azha...eid-ul-azha seems to have this touch of lonliness.maybe i end up missing my goat too much:D
Of course it makes you happier.. It's the day you get to eat! :D

I know what you mean, the celebration isnt quite the same though I still enjoy it. Eid-ul-Fitr is something special though, you feel a sense of victory. But I love the process of fasting throughout ramadhan and finally coming to eid ul fitr

Tomorrow will be the day!! I've already set aside my food for sahur. Btw, what do you guys call sahur in arabic? Is it sahur as well? Sahur is where you eat in the morning before Subuh prayers to fill your tummy for the day
