Footballers’ stories often begin as a young child running with a ball at their feet, shorts that go past their knees and baggy shirts. Marchisio’s is one of these stories.
From a young age, the black and white of Juventus has been like a second skin for Marchisio. He entered the Juventus Giovanili at the age of seven and proceeded to rise through the ranks. Aside from a season on loan at Empoli, he has spent his entire career, junior and senior, playing in black and white. Last year, he played a key part in the Bianconeri’s Scudetto triumph, thus achieving one of his childhood dreams in the process.
Marchisio’s talents also put him on the national team’s radar from an early age. He represented the Azzurri in every age group, from Under 16 to Under 21 level before breaking into the senior side in 2009 at the age of 23.
Today he turns 27 and all associated with Juventus Football Club wish the ‘Little Prince’ a very happy birthday.
