They actually have girls who claim they can do 75 pull-ups on their crossfit games bios, but couldn't climb a 10 ft high pegboard. Of the 40 or so girls there something like 3 of them could climb the pegboard. And they claim 75 pull-ups. If they could do even 10 strict pull-ups without that idiotic kipping, they could easily have done that pegboard.

Went for a run yesterday, first in a month or so. My thighs are fucking killing me Considering taking the bus to uni instead of the usual 8km bikeride (which is nothing!)

I haven't made a single run in 6 weeks, I really want to but I always find myself going out to the yard with the kettlebell and the battle rope and doing some workouts.

Its much more fun, of course youre going to do that. Since i smoke cigarettes I need to keep doing 40m cardio a few times per week if I want to keep smoking and not really feel it on a day to day basis.

The kipping pull up is stupid. The only reason it exists is because they have to get those huge numbers. If you think the kipping is bad, you should see their muscle ups.. Where a strictly executed muscle up is a thing of beauty, they just jump up and use momentum.

Don't get me wrong though, some of these athletes are incredibly jacked and I'm sure they're strong. But they're not elite at anything.

Do you have templates or do you build on the spot? I bought a land and I can't get myself to enjoy any of the pre-fabs but hiring a carpenter to build a house like I want would cost a fortune.

Do you have templates or do you build on the spot? I bought a land and I can't get myself to enjoy any of the pre-fabs but hiring a carpenter to build a house like I want would cost a fortune.

We build in our ship, but no templates. Everything is custom. We're a custom home builder, and do handcrafted traditional timber frames. No CAD, no CNC joinery machine. We work with hand tools, and finish our joinery with chisels, slicks, and hand planes. All mortise and tenon joinery held in place with wooden pins, or dutch thru tenons held in place with wooden wedges.

Our price per square foot varies dependent on the client, but low-end would be around $200 CAD/Square foot. High end can get up to the $400 range. We've been working towards more affordable and sustainable building in recent years, and generally try to recommend people build smaller, and higher quality. We work with a lot of reclaimed timbers from old torn down factories, warehouses, railroad trestles and bridges. And our current projects are all built green certified, and 2 of them are net zero. We're certified living roof builders as well.

I quite enjoy it. I went to University for a number of different things from 18-25, but always ended up returning to work as a timber framer. I never really found anything that quite matched working with my hands to create. It's quite fantastic to see a frame go up after months of work.

I think part of the reason people are depressed is that they work jobs with no visual end result. I have a friend who makes furniture for example and I often think how cool it must be to be able to say you made something at the end of each day.

I agree with that... It's the lack of visible end results as you say. It really helps to see tangible outcomes from what you spend your day doing.

That's cool but it doesn't really tell me anything apart from how I score, which I know without using it, because I don't know how that compares to other people.

Per weight category, you can optain classifications. These give an idea of what level you are at and how you should compare.
These classifications are :

class 3 : possibly best of a town population
class 2 : possibly best of city population
class1 : possibly best of a region (on average)
candidate master of sport(CMD) : acceptable for national competition
master of sport (MS): competitive for national champion, acceptable for international competition
international master(MSIC) of sport : competitive for international champion

You fall in the -83 kilogram category.

Class 3 is 352.5, so you are 7.5kg away from that.



To look at lifts individually, there is also a classification per weightclass for benchpress. This gives an idea of how your squat/deadlift is comparing to the bench, to detect the weaker lift.

Your bench is 110. Class 3 is 102.5. So benchpress is your strong point
