That's what i thought initially, but distance running is really great, start with 5K, and then 10K, i just did my first 21K, and i can't believe i actually finished, with a pretty good time, below target. Most important is to have a bit of training, no need for intense training, just a couple of 2-3KM run like twice a week on the treadmill and you should be fine with 10K, I think stamina wise, as long as you dont smoke too much, and trained enough, it would be fine, the part that i still have a bit of a hard time overcoming is the soreness on the legs (quads, calf).

definitely should try running distance, its awesome!
I've always had the impression that it will burn too much muscle growth.

People overthink when it comes to cardio burning muscle. Just because they end up getting smaller doesn't mean they lost muscles. No, they were just fat (or not fat but it was fat that vanished) and they were losing that fat. Not muscle.

Muscles are more like a baloon. Not a freaking icecream.

Its widely established that Cardio burns muscle, wich is why olympic and powerlifters, who arent endurance athletes, will do their cardio'esque work, with weights.

As in high intensity squat work (regardless of high/low bar). As in 5-6 sets at 70%+ with 90-120sec intervals at most. Because cardio is just bad for muscles.

However, here is the deal.

Are you a bodybuilder who wants to drop below 10% ? You'll do cardio each day, cause squatting to muchs fucks up your definition. if you dont want to lose muscle, use clenbuterol or an androgenic anabolic to protect them.

Are you a fitness athlete or a body and fit guyse ? You'll do cardio each day, and then some more, and also cardio, coupled with cardio and more cardio. Cause your physique isnt big enough to have actual issues with the point off loss versus gain.

If you are anyone else, you'll do cardio 2-4 times per week, cause you arent even close to the proper diet and sleep, you wont lose muscle whatsoever, but you'll turn into an ugly fatty if you dont do the cardio, and nobody likes the ugly fatty.

So as you can see, very few excuses not to do cardio

The big mistake people tend to make, is that the point where cardio is harmfull to muscular development, is much further then everyone thinks

Cause allmost nobody actually has muscle. I was actually doing quite a bit of cardio to get to the gym back in the day, and i kept steadely progressing towards a 190kg deadlift, 140kg squat and 100kg benchpress. (3 years ago)

Unless you are doing more then that, go do your fucking cardio you pussys

I think that's acceptable according to gym etiquette
Thanks for the approval.

What about girls using the quad/hamstring curl machines for weird ab shit?

All the dumb bells in my curling rang were being used today so I did.some barbell curls after my traps today. Thought of you Zach :klin:
Approved because of traps

Cardio is merely a way to burn more calories. Caloric deficit offcourse works the same way, as long as you spread it correctly

I don't do any cardio... I don't get fat.
Yeah but you sortha know what you are doing

I lost 30kg without cardio, cause i had insane caloric deficit trough proper diet and very high intensity squatting

I just stopped cardio too, I wasn't getting anything from it but tired, I go for a run on Sunday for fun and I do four miles of walking in my commute so I recon I'm covered
Yeah. I do a fair bit of surfing, so the paddle outs are often like cardio, especially on bigger wave days. It's more so that I don't do a single minute of gym/planned cardio. Hate that shit.

I do kinda like the trip on my bike to the gym, wich is about 7.5km, at a pretty good speed

Technically thats also cardio i suppose, but i just love to ride the bike

I also find it a pretty good way to warm up the muscles in general a bit, and boost up the cardiovascular thingie
