Any tip on how to go up in weight?

At least that's what I'm doing, along with protein shakes.

Zach, since you are the expert here i think you should explain the usage of hgh since i saw people in the forum mistake it for steroids, even though a lot of people who use the former do combine it with the latter.
I'll go basic on it or everyone falls asleep, its quite complicated short, or VERY LONG easy explenation, so i'll go fior a brief basics

Steroids are a synthetic testosterone, with a modification

hgh, or humen growth hormone, is a hormone (duh).


The amount of muscle on the body is determined by 4 factors in general :

1) the amount of testosterone. this binds to androgen and anabolic receptors. The power of the binding is 100/100

2) The time blood vessels are open, allowing circulation of nitrogen components (amino acids). This is called nitrogen retention. Musclepump trough training and nox supplements increase this.
This is why you train (muscle pump : open vessles more) and eat protein (more nitrogen components now enter vessle) trough the day

3) working out, will cause a bunch of stuff to promote muscle repair. More tissue will be synthesised. this is why training will make u grow.


Basically, a steroid is a synthetic testosterone, but altered, so they have some added effects wich may include :

- stronger binding to anabolic receptor, leading to increased muscle allowance on the body
- increased nitrogen retention, so more muscle can be build
- retention of water in the muscle, so more nutrients can be shuttled. this also gives a hydrolic effect that will boost your strenght. this is caused by aromatic steroids. this means it converts in estrogen. testosterone is also aromatic.
- increased recovery time by triggering signal molecules to hormones

result : The large muscles will grow

A few example of known steroids :

Dianabol : oral steroid that gives the biggest strenghtgain while taking it, because retaining water and promoting muscle synthesis. 80% of the gain will be lost after quitting. When taken alone,the other 20 goes away as well. Used as a starter or beachboysteroid. Causes the massive acnee that you see on juicers

testosterone : inject, needed cause steroids may or will shut natural production down. Hamilton took it, and blamed drinking 2 beers for having tripple the normal value

deca durabolin : very long nitrogen retention, takes 2 weeks to work, will keep its high retention for weeks to come. arnold took it on test and dbol. Known for causing impotence also referred to as "decadick". can take months to recover on high doses of cabergoline and nolvadex

winstrol : diet steroid that agressively cuts fat from muscle tissue while protecting muscle mass. hepatoxic. kills your liver, kidneys and sexdrive. just like most diet steroids.

anavar : oral steroid that does the same as winstrol but much less agressive. like dianabol, also temporary, and useless when not combined with an inject(just like all orals tbh)

trenbolone : god among steroids. 500/500 anabolic androgen ratio. has every possible "positive" effect you can want from a steroid. has to be combined with test cause will shut down testicles. causes increased temper, is not hepatoxic but is so hard on the liver that 1 or 2 beers get u drunk with massive hangover. lowers T3 production. BIG increase in prolactine with cause anorgasmia and possible forming of breasts. Needs to be taken with T3, cabergoline, nolvadex, testosterone and a kickstarter like dianabol. nearly as expensive as hgh.

Steroids, do it wrong and u'll kill your body, do it right and u kill your wallet, and potentially your girlfriends face when she is on pms. like bladerunner who was on testosterone.

Steroids are also a cause of prostatecancer and possible testicle cancer

Human growth hormone.

Causes growth of bone structure and internal organs. This means you have more skelet so more muscle can be put on the body. growth of bone structure as we all witnessed during our puberty, is massively good for weightloss.
For this reason, most users combine it with bulk steroids and lots of food.

the diffrence bewteen the schwartzenegger and current bodybuilding generation, is growth hormone.

growth hormone is incredibly expensive at 600-800 dollers for a month or 2/3 and should be taken for at least 6 months in a row.

If you have a cancer that is developping, growth hormone will massively boost the growth and metastasis of the cancer.

Eat what you currently eat, and add 2 or 3 shakes with 300ml skimmed milk, 50g protein and 50/75g oats

Love being back in the gym, dunno why it took me so long to get back into working out.
Loving the fact that my gym now opens at 7am too, that way I get the place to myself before I gotta go to work.
Nothing worse then having to compete with huge eastern european types for weight benches etc.

So funny when people say this. Everyone that is saying that, shouldnt be worried about it at all, because getting bigger on muscles alone, requires a ton of efford and knowledge.

Just do what you are doing, calculate the calories your body needs to stay at your current weight, and make sure less then 40% of that come from protein, and u'll be fine.
Requires years of working out as well.

Working out is indeed a great feeling. I'm back at it, myself. Just from home, though, with dumbbells etc. (and jogging of course), but I'll be re-activating my gym-membership after the semester.

Currently I'm squatting 84kg! (Not that high, I know... but is high for me, lol). I'm also going below parallel and results are amazing.

I've noticed that I'm pussy weak on bench and shoulder press, but I'm stronger on pull ups and basically other pull movements.

Working out is indeed a great feeling. I'm back at it, myself. Just from home, though, with dumbbells etc. (and jogging of course), but I'll be re-activating my gym-membership after the semester.
Makes sense to ease yourself back into the swing of things away from others for sure, at least then when you get back into the gym you won't look a complete novice.

What I really look forward to starting up again is squats with proper sized weights. Last time I was working out properly I was comfortably squatting 110kg, which I think is decent for someone my size.

I really need tons of food to get weight. Not because of my metabolism, I'm just too active most of the time. Most of the days when I workout I also walk for like 5-7km as well which basically destroys all of my sandwiches that I ate.

Yeah, the "efford" is the complete package of training, eating, sleeping, improving everything etc

when i was 23 i could squat the bar. Keep your form right and you'll keep improving definatly :tup:

Cardio is the killer, I made the mistake of spending one hour doing cardio and one hour doing weights my last spell in the gym. I was very lean and probably had the lowest body fat percentage I've clocked in my life, but what I really wanted was bulk.
