Do any of you know about Krav Maga? How good is it for fitness and "fun"?
i dont know much about the fitness aspect, i'm pretty sure they will do a lot of physical conditioning, but as a form of fighting it is very effective and very dangerous, you don't wanna be messing with an experienced krav maga fighter

I can't wait to watch you fight professionally while cheering you on
man football was one thing, fighting is another! don;t really see myself goin pro, i was playing football since i was a kid, for years, i had damn good talent, fighting not as much, did kyokushin 11-15, boxing on an off in my late teens and done mma for nearly 2 years now, i'm no gsp! the most i'll get to is maybe semi-pro kinda thing or low level pro, my ground game trainer is pretty good, this was his second most recent fight

welterweight, 77kg limit, i think i may see if i can get down to 70kg (lightweight) as i'm around 5'9 some of the welterweight guys are pretty big, a lot of 6ft + and i find it quite tricky standing up with those guys due to their range

That is pretty small. I guess you'll have to sharpen your grappling and inside striking skills. :D

The good thing is tall guys will have trouble with you on the ground.

yep, it's true, but matt hughes is 5'9 i believe and dominated the ufc welterweight division for a while, and gsp is 5'10 and also dominating, it can be done as you said, i dont mind going toe to toe with bigger guys in boxing or thai boxing, but with mma you have these tiny 4oz gloves, it's very easy to get taken out, i'm working a lot on my wrestling and bjj which was something of a weakness for me

I liked going against bigger opponents when I was into boxing. I couldn't imagine getting hit with a 4oz glove at full swing. Big props to you getting so far into the sport.

Hughes is amazingly strong and has a great chin and GSP is so well rounded and smart it's not funny. Those guys are two of my favorite fighters. Hughes with the "Manimal Choke" in his last fight was too good. :D

Thanks man. Sounds good. That's what I'm looking for, the physical conditioning from an interesting activity because I can't stand gymming or running.

that's crazy! don't your legs get really sore? or are they just used to it now?
I am used to it and I complete my running with training that helps my running so no, no sore legs. I ran on the average 30 km per week and I have to go up to 50 km.
