But do you not think we should have delayed the sale of Vidal if not at least tried to negotiate for more with a clear target in mind to fund that move
We probably should have signed who we wanted first and then sold Vidal. But you and I aren't privy to what exactly happened with that transfer.

like we had a replacement for Vidal?

:beppe:

5/10 mercato as we stand
Sounds about right, maybe 6 as we finally have a solid depth in attack, good addition in defence and back up gk, but screwed our strongest point midfiled.

Lets hope we wont be slowing down in our way up, as soon some of these motherfckrs will be playing in their own stadium.

That's a tad harsh. The business we have done so far is circa 7/10 but the activity 15/7>> has all the hallmarks of indecision and disorganisation.

What worries me is that a few on here are positing that our mercato may be, as near as damn it, over. Well, if that is the case, the Scudetto is wide open.

I'm sure as can be, that 2 more are coming but the wait is becoming tedious.

I do agree that our defense and attack have improved but our midfield . Without Vidal we will be missing something, and I feel like Sturaro, Pereyra, Asamoah, and Khedira are all great but without a trequartista in this team, we will not be considered stronger or close to the same strength as last season.

When Marotta said the Mercato is closed in July I believed him.

As far as the scudetto the race, I am more than confident we will win again easily. None of the teams have done enough to close the gap.

?

What I mean is, we sold Vidal (obviously Vidal requested this sale) but now we are pretty confused as to what to do with the money.
I don't think the money is the issue here, it's just that the need is not really as clear as they are saying. I feel sorry for Allegri though who is forced to adjust his work to whatever the management give him.

It was weird in the week leading up until the Supercoppa where Allegri said Dybala is not an AM, and we need to sign one and Beppe said Dybala can play there and that we are looking for a universal midfielder, or something like that.

Yes at that point it became clear that there is confusion within the management. The amount of random ridiculous player linking since then even it is journalism has some truth to it. Let's hope we get over this bump in the best way possible.

that really pissed me off because I know Marotta has to find the player, but the least you can do is give a player that allegri is asking for

I too picked up on that. That was part of the lack of joined up thinking that I was referring to.

I love Beppe and I do think he's one of the best in Europe in his job, but with all due respect to him, I'd take a lot more stock in what Allegri thinks of a player - as he's an actual coach. It's clear that Dybala is not a natural AM, and Allegri will definitely not play him in that position.

If Allegri really wants/wanted Draxler, we should really be doing our best to bring him here.

Hopefully this will not result in losing a great tactician because it's a fact that Allegri is one.

I think what'so happening is the same as when you make a big sale. Everybody knows we've got money because they watched us in the champions league.

Not sure lowballing is going to work so well now.

More importantly clubs know we have sold a big player and we have needs which already puts us at a disadvantage in negotiating a low price and this is where I think Marotta has his limitation that I spoke of last season, frankly it is frustrating and I fear we'll never come close to what we did last season especially in Europe for a long time again
