I disagree !! we should look to improve not to stagnate or take steps back. Next year will be more difficult to sign WC players, PL new TV deal, our CL campaign won't be as good as last year most probably....
In the essence of full disclosure, the reason why I said that is that I think that this club went as far as it possibly could as it was currently constructed. Not only for last year, but in the coming years. Despite the amazing run last season, there is still a continental divide between us and the Barca' s and Real Madrid's of the world. It was starting to go from a veteran squad to an old one, and history has shown us that veteran teams can get old very quickly.

I did not want to see that coming, because that turns us into Inter or Milan circa 2012. Truthfully speaking, a lot of us HOPED that Juve could make a serious run in Europe, but I think that if we were allowed to speak off the record, not many of us thought that it was possible.

So the club has done the unconventional for the most part, and has turned to youth to lead Juve to the next chapter. It's not a popular move, even amongst those that have been pushing for youth for a long time. A lot of it seems to be too much, too soon, especially if Draxler is signed. Talk about a young attack, with Dybala, Draxler, Coman, Morata, and Zaza.

Thankfully, the club has the right mix of experience and players still in their prime in other positions of the squad. Sometimes difficult choices have to be made when you do something the way Juve have done this summer. That difficult choice was Vidal. Whether it was a mutual agreement between the two parties, or a side swipe by one or the other, who the hell knows. But after Pogba, he was the one who would bring in the highest amount of cash.

So, in conclusion, I think this club went as far as it could. And no, I don't think that it is a small team or a provincial mentality. I call it preventative measures to make sure that the cycle can continue, and not having us fall into that trap.

I'm pretty sure that you could easily find posts in mercato thread and everywhere else where half the members are whining and panicking about average age of our squad, and how we have too old squad and are doomed in next years. Now when we are trying rejuvenate squad the same people are still unsatisfied and suddenly age is not a problem, well no surprise there...

Maybe there's a balance between dropping the average age and same time bringing in a WC signing when you get rid of one. It's a difficult one I respect the managements choices but we're not helping the avg age when all of a sudden we bring in a 29 year old. As for the whole balancing books then yes there's some truth in that and no denying it, no matter how you portay it.

So, why did we prioritized the Zaza move, over the LB one?
The only thing I can think of, as stupid as this sounds, is that acquiring Zaza for that price will allow for us to buy Berardi at a better price next season.

I know I'm reaching at straws, but that is all I can think of.

If you don't know what you are talking about, then it's better to keep your mouth closed
He is a 30 years old turd who is not wanted by his club anymore because they bought an obviously better player. What is it i don't know about?

Don't waste your time.

He still uses the Martinez transfer from 5 YEARS AGO as his main point in arguments.
Juve don't need to sell to balance the books.

When was the last time they ever did that, and why, of all years would this year be the time to do it?
Since Marotta came and made stupid signings like MARTINEZ.

No offence man but that's way way too retarded from a managerial perspective. So we're caving i to demands of Sassfvckinuolo just to get Berardi, next season?!!!
I may be one of his biggest fans here, but lets be honest here, who the fvck is Berardi to justify hemorrhaging money like this? We're paying what like 25-30 mil (in total) for Berardi and 18 mil for this 4th choice striker? ( A position a loan like Matri or whoever the fvck, could easily fill)
Had we not wasted that money this way -adding the 40mil from the Vidal sale- we could've easily bought Goetze+Felipe Luis or another classy LB.
And the fvcker has the audacity to come out and say "We've invested 90mil in serie a this season". :lol2:

Agree with the first part.

That Zaza deal won't ever make sense, and it would be more hilarious if we fail to Sell Llorente.

Relax. The guy is more unstable than a radioactive Uranium isotope.

So, why did we prioritized the Zaza move, over the LB one?
Because we haven't agreed terms with a LB yet.

I don't get why people assume X has to come before Y in order for it to be claimed "priority".

The asininity . The epitome of overreactions and blind optimism of a little kid, calling other unstable. :lol2:
Well I guess you can't expect more from a child trapped in the body of grown up. Why don't you get on with your "just" and "almost" game kiddo?

I don't know how this guy fared at Atl but he was beast for Benfica tho especially when they knocked us out of the EL, too bad he is 29, if we can get him for 5-8m it would be nice..

Many were definitely worried about the average age of the squad, and a lot were saying that we were gonna meet the same fate as Inter and Milan - having an old squad full of unmotivated players on big waves.

Now our club has making tough (and evidently) unpopular decisions to refresh the squad to open a new winning cycle, everyone screams doom and gloom and wishes we kept all of our old players anyway.
