for me i think if you have no ties to a national team, ties being your from that nation or like me you have a country's heritage you shouldnt support them.

i am cool for watching a team and wanting them to do well because of good football they play or whatever but supporting a team is completely different, for me at least.

if you have certain favourite players you want them to do well, certainly thats ok with me, but dont say my country when it isnt yours.

I give a fuck about Egyptian players like Abu trika and barak because they are more talented than this prick Amr Zaki, and they have a lot of respect.
Then i guess we are more or less on the same page.

I am a Zamalek fan (ya poor me) and i hate el Ahli hence my hatred to Barakat and Abu Treka.
I admit Abu Treka is the best player since Hossam Hassan but barakat is shit

Lippi:

....the media continues to discuss his refusal to pick Mario Balotelli and Antonio Cassano.

The Nazionale is the team of dreams and everyone should want to be here, but they also need to earn it with their attitude and a spell at the highest level.

“Some say Italy’s squad is not up to the quality of Brazil, Argentina or England, but it seems to me that many of these players were shelved for months even by their club Coaches.

“Do you think that with them we can bridge that ‘gap’ with the other sides, or do we achieve that by going to a tournament with a united, strong and solid squad, as we did in other occasions?

So how does Cassano fit in what Lippi says here?
Cassano showed maturity in these last two seasons and he did play at the highest level (unlike Palombo, Maggio, Bonucci, Bocchetti, Pepe etc).

And then Lippi goes on saying that he didn't call Totti only due to fitness reasons. He talks about "attitude problems" in Cassano's case, but with Totti it's about fitness.
So was it Cassano who was kicking players on the ground and who went medieval on Balotelli?

Lippi concerns about his own team and its atmosphere. Both Cassano and Balotelli could be easily making troubles inside the team. Both had problems with their coaches this season, both had problems with their OWN teams' fans this season. Totti is not like that. Cassano and Balotelli are excellent players but I think Lippi was right to not include them in the squad for such an important tournament.

What was it about Cassano this season? I didn't follow.

He wasn't regular under Del Neri at first...for some silly reason of course. They probably had some fight but they didn't make it public.

Other than that he was fine.

I just watched the semi final 2006 against Germany again. What a player Cannavaro was back then.Legend.
I loved how he started the move for the second goal. Just his pure determination. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z-tcdN-Ms38#t=4m02s

On the topic of that semi final, I think this was the point in the match when I knew we weren't conceding even if we played for 500 minutes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sh5F5kEI26g
Definitely. It was the best performance of Italy in that tournament. Everyone was excellent. Buffon, Cannavaro, Pirlo, Grosso, Totti. What a night it was :touched:
