I was speaking to an Italian friend today (not a Juve fan) who thinks our demise in the CL was a plan by the players and Lippi so they'd be fresher come the finals.

I didn't subscribe to idea by the way.
Your friend is deluded.

Smell my ass with your garlic noses,
Fuck Italy, fuck Italy,
Screw all your fanboys,
Campioni di grease heads,
Fuck Italy, fuck Italy,
Italien gooks, chinks, and spics,
All Italiens, mothers and fathers,
Fuck Italy, fuck Italy,
My ass poops Genoas,
My dick pisses Inters,
Fuck Italy, fuck Italy,
I vomit up Napolis,
I eat pizzas topped with Parmas, Romas, and Sienas,
Fuck Italy, fuck Italy,
I drink at the Bari,
I kill at the Lazio
Fuck Italy, fuck Italy,
My sister got raped at the Fiorentina,
I poop into a Sampdoria,
Fuck Italy, fuck Italy,
I lived in Atalanta,
Only met gay Catanias!
Fuck Italy, fuck Italy,
I chew up and spit out Bologna,
I looked at a Milan and killed myself!
Fuck Italy, fuck Italy,

Fuck Italy, fuck Italy,

But they don't believe in the Holocaust,
Fuck Italy, fuck Italy,

Hopefully it will have the same effect like it had on Germany at the Euros 2000.
They got humiliated in the group stage with an old squad and old tactics, they became last with only one point and 1:5 goals.
After that they developed a new youth system and the whole League revised itself, clubs started to integrate their own youth more and more and reviewed their tactics.
And you can see this year what this youth system produced.
U17, U19 and U21 Europe Champions, this is not just fortuity. These are the fruits from a work that began years ago.

Indeed. That's what Italy needs for the good of Italian football -- a major faliure and then rebirth.

I'm amazed that there are so many of you speaking negatively of gli Azzurri on a Juventus message board. Forza Azzurri! It should be no problem at all winning this group. I don't really hold out hopes of winning once more, but I the semis would please me, and anything less than the quarters would be a failure.

Jealousy my friend, that's all. Azzurri are the world cup holders, no surprise you see all the hate around.

Forza Azzurri, the four-time World Cup winners :D

Oh I understand the jeallousy. When I go on Brittish soccer sites I expect the hate. But on a site dedicated to passion for an ITALIAN team I would expect that there would be almost none of that type of sentiment.

It's like that because there are several people who like the Italian national team, without being Italian at all. Then there's the next group, who just hate them for doing that, and feel like expressing it everywhere they go boring the rest with it.

That's how things work onhere, you don't want to get involved, pointless.

Nod and smile... nod and smile.

Jealous because they won the WC 4 years ago.

The only NT one should be jealous of is Brazil.

Thats not the real reason at all actually.

Most of us non azzurri supporters are just fed up with how Italian players are overrated here for the sole reason that they are Italian.

Oh well, atleast I got to vent my frustration at that never-ending witchhunt.

Well, considering that we've won it 4 times, yes I would say that the rest of the world OTHER than Brazil could/should be jeallous of our achievements. Germany are neck and neck with us, and everyone else trails far behind.

I don't think it's all down to jeallousy though, I think that it's also because our style is not appreciated as well. However, again, if one doesn't appreciate the Italian style I'm not sure why they would be so crazy to follow teams in the Italian league, and again I'm not sure why they would then be here.

And yes, many of Italian descent (such as myslef) choose to follow Italy over and above our countries of birth (I support and follow the US ... so long as they are not playing or in contention with Italy. At WC 2006 I was unashamedly and completely pulling for gli Azzurri when they met the US). I know that riles some people up as well.

Anyways, i'll drop it ... I just found it extremely odd to find these sentiments in this of all places.

Who does that and what players are they over-rating?

The only player worth hyping is Buffon, because he's the only world class player we have.

What a bunch of clowns in this thread, but it's not surprising.

I'm not jealous of the Azzurri. In fact, I used to love watching them, and was first introduced to European soccer by watching Italy play in 1994 in our World Cup. They were fun to watch back then with the personnel they had, and I preferred them winning the Cup before everybody except the US or other underdogs.

But ever since I joined this forum, I realized that many of their fans who are not the slightest bit Italian are nothing but pompous assholes. Then once that faggot De Rossi elbowed McBride and the fanboys defended it, I decided I had enough of their gloryhunting idiocy.

So now, I wish the worst for Italy, not because I dislike the nation and Italians, but rather because of their fanbase. They are just as bad as English football fans and some EPL know-it-alls who have Wayne Rooney bobble-heads lodged in their rectum.
