Barry being out means England will probably play Gerrard deep, though, which will limit his influence on the game.

I'm not being biased. England is a good team, but looking at the players they have, it's still not all that great. Strong through the middle, but not impressive on the sides, IMO.

That's better :p

This I agree with. Looking forward to the game on Saturday?
Indeed. I've never been so excited for a match before.

USA might actually have a chance in this easy group, then become goal fodder for Germany. England to top the group (obviously).
What do you mean "might actually"? Of course we have a chance, just like we did in 2006 but didn't play well enough to go through.

We aren't North Korea, you know.

USA are handicapped for obvious reasons when it comes to football. Meanwhile Slovenia for example managed to qualify by finishing the group in front of the Czech Republic. USA had a chance in 2006? They finished dead last with a single point. No sane person ever expected them to place anywhere but last in that group.

In your opinion.

We should have beat Italy, but of course, they received referee help to get a draw.

Either way, this group is going to be a tough nut to crack for you guys. Good luck.

I hope you kick some English ass on Saturday. I simply don't want to watch players like Terry celebrate.

What? Terry is an ass.

I'm also supporting everyone who play against Portugal. Bunch of fairy cheats. :D

Maybe I should say 'I'd prefer any opponent Portugal play to win', as otherwise I'll be stoned to death, for being a fake fanboy.

It certainly won't be easy. Much of it depends on whether our best players show up to play. In 2006, Donovan and a couple others did jack diddley, and that's why we did so poorly.

We still outplayed Italy though, which was all we could take from the tournament.

:D

Pretty much sums up a World Cup, the big boys have to stand up to make the difference. Form of the day, as there's hardly any room for error.

I was laughing at Italy receiving referee help to get a draw against USA though :D

How? USA didn't even score a goal in that game, let alone come close to it.

Anyways, I wouldn't mind USA beating England at all, but I just don't see it happening. After that it'll be tough (but possible) for them to finish 2nd.
Now I'm sure you didn't even watch that game.
