Now there's the attitude I want to see. The atmosphere during the game sounds great the way you describe it :D.

The problem I have with Andy is his constant showing off and his mocking of the opponent after a result that he considers to be good. Who in the right mind makes fun of a team you didn't even beat? It's because he feels so inferior I guess. Only if you consider yourself to be a very poor team you would gloat about a draw.
Maybe it's because I just hate the English national team and their media, along with the Azzurri.

I already congratulated Nick on a well-played match. Why? Because he actually supports his own nation, unlike other neanderthals.

Howard for Buffon, just, no. Howard's a good keeper but any situation that involves selling Buffon isn't acceptable.

Credit to the US, they did well, great team ethic. England should have done better later on and exposed DeMerit and Onyewu who were playing way too far apart, but a draw was fair as US did well first half whereas England were pretty poor (again).

If England are going to have Jamie Carragher in defence for this tournament they aren't going to go far. As for the goalkeeper, well you just pick one who is least likely to fuck up. That was supposed to be Green, but it seems to make no difference.
Yes, I say. Buffon is undoubtedly the best keeper in the world, but I'd rather use some capital to buy some of the best defenders in the world. It would be much like the Zizou transfer.

England will advance from this group for sure, but I can't see them going very far. They have too many questions at the back and having a guy named Heskey playing is an absolute joke.

And again, where was Rooney?

I don't see Algeria being a problem. It's Slovenia and their compact defense that worries me. Granted I've seen the US much more than you so you can just believe me when I say I'm right.:D

And I was disappointed with the draw. We could have won the match by 2 or 3 goals had we finished better in the final third. I think for me the match was made to seem better than it was by the awesome atmosphere we watched it in. It was as you say "typically American" and I think you would have loved it. Especially when the majority of the pub began baiting the 6 England fans during a car commercial featuring a Camaro with a US flag chasing red coats off a field during the Revolutionary War.

A lot of the English tackling should have been carded especially the tackles by Carragher and Heskey (on Howard).
Agreed with the tackles. Should have been more yellows, but I guess they wanted to let them "play."

Torres has to be in midfield for the next matches.

Didnt see your first question about Rooney, but the truth is that he had a quiet match for the first 65 or so minutes, Cherundolo and DeMerit did a good double job on him and Rooney is much worse when he has to go deep looking for the ball as he did in this game. Capello has a real problem with Rooney, he needs him to stay as a centre forward.

Algeria and Slovenia looked like two very average teams, I think England will beat both (I won't say it will be particularly impressive), and I think the US will beat Algeria but Slovenia might cause a problem as they a more defensive and set up compactly, the US need to make sure they take their chances in that one.

I don't care much for Slovenia. Russia being there would have made the World Cup better.
