Best match I ever saw live (on TV) was Italy 2-0 Germany in the 2006 WC.
To this day I remember that match. I lived in Syria at the time and I made my dad buy the sport bundle for the world cup. But what happened during the extra time was incredible because we lost power in our apartment complex. Then I was in the balcony listening to the noises that the residents of the building in front of us were making, to gauge the scoreline. When I heard two screaming noises in quick succession I was positive that italy won. Little known fact, the levantine people generally like Italy internationally. I loved that team so much but how they treated Juve after made me indifferent about the azzurri anymore.

Levantine people have a respect and affinity with Italians (especially Southern Italians) because there’s a lot of cultural similarity between them as well as some genetic overlap. Mediterranean peoples for life.
