Cunha: No Grafite offers
Sao Paulo chairman Marco Aurelio Cunha has stated that they have not received any offers from French side Le Mans for star striker Grafite.
It had been reported that Le Mans had made a bid of €4 million (£2.75 million) for the player, though the chairman insists that there has been no contact from the French club.
"In football it is always the same, many things are said then they aren't done," Cunha said.
"We heard some days ago that Le Mans were interested in Grafite and we have even heard the player saying to the press that he would like to play in France, but the truth is that we haven't received any type of communication from Le Mans.
"If we receive an offer for him we'll have to consider it, and even if the player wants to leave Sao Paulo he will have to wait until we fully consider what we have been offered for him."
He added: "We are going to wait for a proposal from the Le Mans officials because at the moment everything has been done through the press and that's not the way to go about buying a player."
There have also been reports that Italian giants Juventus are interested in the striker, with suggestions that Juve will buy the player and loan him straight back out in order to help his adjustment to European football.
Le Mans are enjoying a great season in Ligue 1 following their promotion and are currently in eighth position, just five points off a UEFA Champions League place
